Any Warhammer 40,000 players here on the DIS

DS and I just bought the starter set and a few other pieces. I've wanted to get into something like this for years. I loved playing DD and other role playing games as a teen. While this is different than a "true" role playing game, it is very similar too. I can't wait to start.

I was big into WH40K about ten years ago. I even still have all my figures and some of the books. I ended up losing interest in it because most of the people I knew who played at the time lived about a five hour drive from here so I had to plan my games well ahead of time. The other reason was that it seemed as if there were rules changes every couple of weeks. It just got to be to much to keep track of. It is a cool game though and I hope you enjoy it

My 27 YO DS has played if for years. They have a big group who meets every Wednesday night.

Luckily there is a big group that meest every Fri at a hobby store about 20 min from our house. We learned about Warhammer when were there during a demo. DS was hooked. Truthfully I really liked Battlefleet Gothic more, but Warhammer 40K is cool too. It was so much cheaper to by the set wiht the Space Marines and Dark Eldar, so I fugured I would take the Space Marines. Battlefleet Gothic is on my wish list for next Xmas.

My DS is into it. He goes to play on Friday nights at a hobby store with one of his best friends. His best friend and little brother and MOM are very much into it and got my DS hooked. I find it rather expensive for the figures and such, but he does take pride in making the figures and painting them. I think he enjoys that as much as playing the game!
