We've been to Vegas several times but I don't know the answer to this (it was never a concern for us)

But my mom, aunt and 2 friends are going to Vegas. They would really like casino hotel on the strip .... with a balcony.

Anyone know if there are places on the strip, or very close to the strip, that have them?

My aunt is very skittish in high rises, unless there is a balcony. I heard there might be a place behind the MGM that have balconies. Any others you can think of?

TIA.

I believe the MGM Skylofts have balconies. So do the Tower rooms at the Venetian but I don't believe they have strip views, more like pool/grounds views. And these are not budget friendly places. They are probably in the $200+ range, and that's on the low end.

There's a place called Imperial Palace but the balcnoies do not directly face the strip, i think it's a side view. And also Palms Place but that's by the Palms which is not on the strip.

Imperial Palace IS on the strip, but it's a DUMP, I would not recommend staying there. We ended up there over New Years once because it was the only place with rooms.

Balconies are few and far between in Vegas, don't want depressed people who just lost all their money jumping off. ;)

Thanks, I corrected my wording, I meant the balconies do not face the strip. :)

I can't think of any casino hotels on the strip with balconies that I'd recommend. What is it about high rises that bothers your aunt? Is it the height or just being able to see? The strip runs north-south so for a strip view you're going to get morning or afternoon sun which can make the room miserable. You may want to look into the Luxor hotel. It's about as tall as the high rises but it's shape makes it less wobbly. The hallways are inside and if you get one right off the main area, it's like having a balcony as they walls do not go all the way up and you can see down to the interior of the hotel. The deluxe rooms have a sitting area by the window, kinda like an inside balcony.

I'm guessing the aunt wants another way to exit the room, in case of fire. If that is the case, she should also be only staying in the first eight floors in a hotel, so the ladder truck could reach her.

I'm pretty sure the Cosmopolitan has balconies. It is new and swanky :)

This is very interesting, but I'm not sure I fully understand. (and if I don't, neither will my mom or aunt :rolleyes1 ) I think they'll keep looking for a balocny somewhere but if not, can you tell me more please? Is it a particular wing or how to identify to the reservationist and check-in person?

Don't think it's fire necessarily, but more space and probably a little claustrophobia.

Wherever they travel, they always get balcony rooms. Always.
:rolleyes1

this would really be the only option.

i have stayed at the imperial palace. i did have a room with a balcony facing the strip. (it was an adequate place to crash but i wouldn't generally recommend it...)

Cosmo has balconies, Signature at mgm has balconies, it's not directly on the strip, but connected to MGM with covered moving walkway.

The Cosmopolitan is gorgeous. Very hip and sleek decor in the casino. We walked through and loved it. My husband said our next Vegas trip we would be staying there.

Balconies are few and far between in Vegas.....just a little too tempting in a spur of the moment losing streak.

They checked it out and agree with you. Like the location and balconies, but thats it....

They loved these two places. Cosmo is pricey though (one friend is El Cheapo :rolleyes1 ) and the other friend doesn't want to walk that far (from MGM Signature)

I know I know, they're never going to please everyone on everything! :rotfl2::confused3

But sure appreciate your ideas, y'all.

(also hope to hear more about the LUXOR from earlier post)

Any other ideas?

Cosmo does have balconys. I stayed there on my last trip to Vegas and enjoyed spending the mornings drinking coffee on the balcony.

The Luxor is shapped like a pyramid. The outer walls are slanted as are the windows. Deluxe rooms have the seating area by the slanted windows. They look almost like skylights and many have a great view of the sphinx or the Excaliber hotel. The interior of the hotel is open and guest rooms line the outer walls. The hallways to guest rooms are not fully enclosed so you can be in the hallway and look down to the atrium. You would need to book a Pyramid Deluxe Room and request it facing east or north for the great views. This site has a video of the room categories so you can see what I'm talking about.

Check out The Platinum. It is a non smoking non gambling hotel about 2 blocks off the strip. You can get a balcony with a view of the strip. The side entrance to Ballys is about half a block away. I stayed there many times and when walking to the strip I'd duck in at that side door and walk through Ballys to get to the strip to avoid walking in the heat.

The rooms are enourmous and beautiful. They have full kitchens, giant whirlpool tubs and nice seating on the balcony. Trip Advisor rates it as the 5th best hotel in Vegas and to me it's one of the best kept secrets in the city.

Here's the best part, roughly $150 a night. You read that right, it's also one of the lowest priced full service hotels in the city.

I absolutely love the place. I'll be staying there in December celebrating my 40th birthday.

The Cosmo has an AMAZING view of the strip. I am staying there for my upcoming trip in June. For the great view, reserve a room facing the Bellagio fountains.

You're going to LOVE it! We had a fountain view and I can't tell you how amazing it is to hear the bells ring and the water show start while sitting on the balcony in a Cosmo robe!
