Has anyone recently stayed at the BWV? We are heading down there In mid January and were wondering how the pipe work was coming along. We recently read some posts that were not so great as far as messy and very dusty areas.

thanks

I'm at BWV now on the 5th floor, BW side, no sign of the pipe work. The tent was still up where the red building used to be along the canel when we went to MGM on Sunday night. The boards are still up around the old DVC models along the BW side. I did notice lights were on in the second floor rooms right above the old models, so I assume they are using these.

Hi Debbie! Hope you are having a great time! Can't wait to hear all about your villa! We'll be down there in a little over two weeks! (I saw over on the Transportation board that you flew AirTran, we'll be doing the same! Renting from Budget, not National this time, though)

If you have the chance, could you take a look on the lower floors (maybe 2nd or 3rd) and see if there is anything to be concerned about? I did request the fifth floor, but since it'll be so busy, I'm not sure if we'll get it. Thanks!

As of tonight, the tent is still up in the back. I'll post if I see any of the pipe work. I saw someone on a balcony on the second floor above the old models, so they are definitely using those.

The fam and I just got back from 8 days at BWV. Had a great time but I was also concerned about the work noise, dust etc... No worries! We never heard a thing from 5022 (great suite!). No noise, dust or inconvenience. The workers we saw were always neat, friendly and polite. The fenced areas were closed off and not an eyesore at all. The only problem we had was when using the back exit toward the Swan and Dolphin my four year old daughter kept wanting to go to the show in the white "circus tent". A construction manager told me that although the second floor villas above the old DVC offices were virtually untouched they were not being rented because of potential noise, other floors were obvioulsy being used. The Boardwalk plank renovation is also moving along fairly quickly and was pretty unobtrusive down by ESPN Zone. Have a great trip!

I took a walk down the 2nd floor last week and although there was plastic on the floor - the air was clear with no sign of dust, but it just may have been at that day/time. Looking up - it's clear that they are doing serious work on the ceilings.

We returned from BWV on Dec. 7. Dear Beca, who is returning today I think, got a perfectly awful view, from room 2002, of the tent. Being the sweetest thing on earth, she didn't even complain. There was still plastic on some of the carpet in the hallways in that area, but the workers who had been in that section when we were there in October were gone. Didn't see where they are working now. We were on 3rd floor, room 3029, BW side, and had no construction issues at all. There is also work going on in front of the bakery, replacing parts of the boardwalk.

Yes, we did JUST return (and I am SOO addicted...here I am!!)!!

We were in 2002, at the VERY end of a long halway (but, not nearly as bad as I had expected). We did have a white tent outside our window...but, I was expecting a parking lot...so, this way...beyond the white tent, I had a canal, and the swan hotel. We were pleased!!!

There was plastic on the floor for part of the walk to our room, and last night when we returned to our room, there was water leaking overhead in the hallway. This morning, on the way out...there were towels covering part of the floor.

I NEVER saw workers working on the floor (unlike VWL which was getting the wood floors in the lobby stripped and re-varnished, so they had to close off one elevator for awhile), and there was never any dust in the air. I didn't think it was anything to be worried about...it was just plastic on the floor...didn't spoil our trip at all!!!

Jean...what a cool pic...thanks for posting!! And...thanks for EVERYTHING!!! I had such a wonderful time!!!

Beca

Welcome back to your other home, Beca! I just re-lived some of the fun tonight on the Travel Channel "WDW Holidays" show. I also had a fabulous time. DH wants to go next year to see all the Christmas stuff first hand. I posted our photo before I remembered that changing signatures is still a problem. I still can't change the text under the photo or my counters.
We saw some water leaking from the ceiling on the third floor hallway near the elevator one day and towels were on the floor, but the next day all was fine.
