Any Updates On AP Renewals?

I called MS today and asked about renewing my AP. I was told there were no DVC discounts on renewals because they were already discounted. What is up with this?

I'd appreciate any info anyone might have.

Maybe she was thinking of the CM discount. There is a discount on a new AP for CM's, but not on renewal AP's

Don't mean to hijack thread but could someone explain the 'renewal of ap's'? Ours is up for renewal in April also and I'm wondering what the savings/benefits are. thanks, Kim

If you renew, it continues with the same dates. If your current AP expires 04/01/05, your renewal will expire 04/01/06, no matter when you first use the renewal. The renewal price is $298 vs $314 for a new AP (DVC member prices). If you will be there around that time, you can save some money. If your next trip will not be for a few months after, it doesn't make sense to lose the time to save $16. For example, I went to WDW the first week of May, my AP expired 05/10/04. My next trip wasn't until 12/04/04, so I did not renew, I bought a new one on 12/04/04 that will expire 12/04/05. If I would have renewed, it would have expired 05/10/05. So I can get a trip at the end of November this year with the same pass. Then I'll buy another new one on the next trip, probably May 2006.
