Any type of electronic "homing device" for wandering children?

I have a 6-year-old boy who is a real handful. My parents are coming with us, so we will have 4 adults and 3 children in our group, but still...Has anyone heard of any type of electronic "homing device" (like a Lojack for children)? Someone told me there was such a thing as a bracelet that would sound an alarm whenever the child was more than 50 feet from a "home base" grownup, like a virtual tether. A leash is probably going a little too far, but some kind of electronic device would be helpful.

Yes, I seen these at walmart. I think they are called angel alert.

I think I saw something like that in of all places Jewel, I dunno how good it would be my kids are older and they stick like glue anyway. I DO need one of those things for my keys though ...uggghhh I couldn't find them for HOURS today. :rotfl:

That one looks good, but i have two small children and it doesn't look like you can add another receiver. I guess I would just have to pick which of my boys I like better. (just kidding) I was considering getting on of those tethers that goes on the wrist. The harness just looks bad to me. But it seems the tether would be a pain getting tangled when they run around like crazy.

I got a set of 2-way radios for when we are on vacation. They say they are good for 2 miles (actual distance is 1/2 mile), but you can add several to one frequency. A 6-year old should be able to use this ( my 3.5 year old loves them). They are also good for the "come see this, I'm by a ..." situation.

This concludes my first post to this sight.

I was reading up on those alarms & it seems the parent's half is the part that sounds the alarm. It would be better if both would sound an alarm so you can follow the beeps to each other. Is there one that does this?

Does anyone know of any brick and mortar retailers who carry these types of products? I'd love to have one for my two year old but we are leaving early Sunday, so I don't have time to order one online.

I seen the angel alerts at walmart yesterday ,Marked down to 10.00 A piece. regular 35.00.

Which section of Wal-Mart were they in? I couldn't find them at the nearest Wal-Mart; maybe I was looking in the wrong place. I would like to find them for $10!

They were hanging on like a display in front of one of the isles by the shoe department

Yeah! For that price I could buy two and not have to pick which of my children I like best.

These must only be available in the US i've never heard of them in Canada but I love the idea. My hubbie always hated the thought of those "leashes" but I could definately sell him on these. Especially since our kids are 5 and 7 and will be too big for strolller. Does WDW rent wagons? They have these at Canada's wonderland

No wagons allowed at Disney at all, but your kids would probably fit in the rental double stroller.

I checked the kid alarms out online and I ordered the Ionkids one. I liked the fact that the distance is greater and it will lead you to the child. i'll post back when I get it and let everyone know how I like it.

You crack me up...if my mom had ever had to choose between me and my sister...lets just say, I probably wouldn't be typing this right now :rotfl:

Has anyone heard these things? I'm worried that in noisy areas you won't hear it. Is there a volume control?
