Any Truly Updated Guidebooks?

I have happily found myself planning a last minute trip for this spring. Unfortunately, most of my guidebooks and other references are out-of-date since my 2003 trip. I wanted to see if anyone knows of a guidebook that is truly updated for 2005. I actually found a few that were published in 2005 (not just 2005 editions printed in 2004), but the first one I picked up (a "Dummies" Guide), was very outdated.

Does anyone know of a guidebook that addresses the new ticket options, as well as other recent changes?

Birnbaums 2005 book is as up to date as you can get someplace other than the disney web site. My family uses this book like it is our bible while there. Good luck.

and although it didn't come with the information for the new tickets etc. you can get updated pages from their website containing all this info. Great book. However, if you want one for a trip in the near future you should order right from their site and include a note that you need it right away and they'll take care of you. HTH

Both the Passporter and Unofficial Guide to WDW have updates available on their websites. Both went to press before the ticketing / package / EMH changes were announced for 2005. There was a rumor that the Unofficial Guide was going back to press for a revised 2005 edition that addressed all of the changes. I haven't heard anything since.

Another source to consider is www.tourguidemike.com. This is a 100% on-line resource. TGM has many rabid fans, and you can find a lot of past discussion threads by searching the board.

Another idea is Tour Guide Mike. I'm using this for my trip in April. His information is all web based, so it's updated constantly. He even issues daily updates as needed. He has TONS of info, but you do need to allow plenty of time to look it over, as it is in article formats -- lots of articles. He walks you through the trip step by step, from a tour guide's perspective (he is a WDW tour guide by profession). It's only about $20 and it has worked well for me.

The other one I like is the Unofficial Guide, but it's kind of outdated. They printed in 2004 for the 2005 edition, so they don't have the EMH stuff or the new tickets. But they still have lots of good info. They also have a website that has a lot of the changed information updated. It is www.touringplans.com.

Hope this info helps.

Have a fun trip - there's no place like Disney!
