Any trouble getting 2 DBL Beds with Priceline Win?

Have never bidded Priceline and the only thing holding me back is the fact that they do not guarantee 2 beds. It has been suggested that you call the hotel you win and request 2 beds but it is not guaranteed. I was wondering if anyone was in a situation where you wanted 2 beds and were not granted that request. If this happened to you, what did you do? (I can just see it now, my family in a really nice room somewhere in a resort hotel and having to take turns sleeping in the King size bed - and it will be all my fault - because I wanted to try Priceline)

I have only used priceline twice - but got a room with 2 double beds both times.

Will not be a problem. I have had numerous PL stays and there were always two bds except in Paris. If you're not going to Paris I think you'll be safe.

WE have used Priceline several dozen times and have never had a problem getting 2 beds. Good Luck!

I've found that it is harder to get a room with one king bed than two doubles.

I've booked dozens of rooms through priceline and only had a problem once. The one time they booked me into a hotel that only had 2 single beds!! There were 3 in our party, so I have no idea how that happened. Anyway, I had to pay for an upgrade to a suite through the hotel. Every other time, though, I usually call the hotel and ask specifically for a non-smoking room with double beds and have never not gotten it.

Was that 2 single bed room at an Orlando hotel? Do you remember what star category? (I don't even remember ever seeing a 2 single bed hotel)

The bottom line is that it's possible you will have to make arrangements to either pay for an upgrade, or a second room. Even if no one here has ever had it happen, it still could. Is it likely? No, it really isn't, especially in a market like Orlando, but it is possible.

If you absolutely cannot accept a room that can only sleep two, consider booking two rooms---you're probably going to get such a good deal that the extra space will still be affordable. Alternatively, book via hotwire, where you can specify the number of people in your party---the price won't be as good as PL, but you are taking less of a risk.

Priceline's general policy is to request a room with two double beds, non smoking. It is simply a request not gauranteed. What few people know is that very few of the major hotel chains gaurantee bedding types. I worked reservations for Hilton (Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Double Tree). You could request a bedding type, but no matter what, it was never promised.

That said, Orlando is a family destination. Rooms with 1 king bed are hard to come buy. In fact, we stayed at the Sheraton Safari a few weeks back and if i remember correctly ony like 20 or 30 of the rooms had a single bed. You absolutely will not have a problem.

The only time we have ever had a problem was in Cinncinati and they gave us a room with a sofa bed. The kids were not happy about it, but we made do. Now when ever we stay priceline we always take sleeping bags with us and keep them in the trunk.
