any transportation between DLH and parks?

We have been to DL many times, but never stayed onsite. I am taking my 10 yo and 4yo by myself this fall and was looking at the map of the area. Do I have to walk all the way from the parks through Downtown Disney back to the DLH? If so, I think I might splurge for the GC just for convenience.

Any help would be appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Kari

It's really not that long of walk, but you can also take the monorail which is next to rainforest cafe. The monorail will drop you into DL. If you want to get to DCA you either take the monorail exit DL and enter DCA, or you walk. Honestly I think it's faster to walk than take the monorail, but you never know, it all depends on how many people are waiting.

I agree! It really isn't that far of a walk and the monorail does drop you right into Tomorrowland.

On the other hand, DCA does is a shorter walk to DL, and offers a private entrance to DCA. It is also a newer hotel...

Did I read somewhere that the monorail was closing for repairs (because of the subs)???

Thanks,
Kari

Plus... the DLH gives you a special pass to get in a special line for hotel guests so you can board before the other guests just wanting to use the monorail.

The walk is really not that far at all from DLH. I did it no problem at 6 months pregnant in March. One time I waited for the monorail and the line up was ridiculous.

Yes, the monorail is going down in September so that they can get the subs station in (and redo the monorail station). It should reopen by May (when the subs officially reopen) with the new Mark VII monorails.
