So some people have gotten some really great shots while on EE or Big Thunder Mountain for example. I'd love to do that too, but I'm so scared that my camera will fly out of my hands, even though I have a great grip on it!
any tips to get pictures while on the outdoor rides, but not worrying about losing your camera?
Thanks. :goodvibes

Wrist strap?

If you are having trouble holding on to your camera because the ride is too rough the pictures will probably turn out bad anyway.

Most rides have a smooth part, just wait til then. And keep your shutter speed up or you will have blurry pictures no matter how hard you try.

Just like ndelaware said, wait for a smooth part and keep the shutter speed up. Here is one of my not so happy son on the barnstormer. This one is 1/200 at f8. Probably could have gone a little faster. It looks a little grainy because i had to downsize quality to upload it.

This was put together from several pictures I took with my canon XT on SM.

Just hold on tight and cross your fingers. Besides, if something happens to your camera, thats a good excuse to upgrade! :thumbsup2

That animated picture thing is amazing! and how you got those shots on SM I'll never know or understand. lol.
and i can agree about the camera upgrading thing, because technically i was looking to get a new, better camera before this trip, but i couldn't save up enough money and seeing that i'm only 8 days from my trip, i wouldn't have time to learn how to operate a new one, so i'm taking my shotty camera. if i lose it, big deal. lol.

That's a great group of shots. I didn't have the guts to use my XT on Splash. My daughters insist on riding in the front seat and with them and me up there in the front seat we get awfully wet.

I took a 1 gallon ziplock bag and cut a hole in it just barely large enough for the lens of my 28-135 lens. Had a UV filter and lens hood on it as well. Worked just fine.
