Any tips on starting pin collections?

Hi,

I thought I'd come to the experts for this question! We're taking our first visit to WDW this Dec. and I know my older boys will want to pin trade...just the kind of thing they'd love. I wanted to buy them each about 5-10 pins before we go, to save money and to get them started. Then if they want more, they can use their $$ in the parks. I've looked at the wealth of choices on Ebay, but I have NO idea if certain pins are better than others for trading (I suspect the answer to that is yes). They don't need anything particularly valuable of course, but I want to make sure the pins I buy are "tradable". What are good options? I plan to buy a "lot" if possible. Anything I should look for? They don't want princess ones

Dont buy sedesma or pro pins. They are not as highly desired as others.

Basically, if the kids are just starting trading, you don't need to worry about which pins to buy. Try to make sure they are authentic Disney type pins (not the ones mentioned before) and get them for the least you can.

When pin trading in the park, the CM's must trade with a guest if they want a pin they have on their lanyard. The CM MUST take whichever pin the guest wishes to trade, and MUST give up whichever pin the guest wants to trade for. There are some CM's that wear lanyards (green I think..not sure) that ONLY kids can trade with, otherwise it's open season.

Basically, just get as many quality pins as you can at a decent price and you can trade up at the park. Hope this helps!

On Ebay, will the seller state whether it is a genuine Disney pin, or one of those other brands?
