Any tips on getting to be the family in a parade?

We're leaving in 6 days Just wondering how families get chosen to ride in the parades... can anyone help? That would be so great!

Somewhere here I read that the CM who chooses the family does it early, just after opening, and that he usually stands on the left side of Main Street (as your facing the castle) near the Emporium. We are going to try wearing matching shirts on our MK day to see if we might get picked. Good Luck, I think it would be really neat!!!

Our family of six was picked to be the grand marshall for a parade at MK last week. We arrived early at MK and we were just walking along Main Street and a CM asked us if we needed some help. We got to talking and joking with the CM, after we finished talking we headed towards the castle and before we knew it, 2 CM's were running down Main Street yelling "family of 6!""family of 6!" We were so excited!!! It was our first day at Disney so it was a great way to start our vacation. My advice for trying to get picked is: be very friendly to any CM you meet at MK. The CM's said they liked how happy and friendly our family was. Good Luck!
