We have never seen Illuminations( me,dh, dd10, dd9, ds5). For our trip May 2-8 I have it planned to try and see. We are going to eat dinner at Coral Reef then proceed around park. Any suggestions on where to try and get a seat. Are there really any bad views in park? Is this like Spectro where you need to stake a place really early? Any advice would be appreciated? Thanks!

We have seen it numerous times, and you and your family will really enjoy it. Our favorite place to watch it is in Canada, right next to a vendor cart and the fence. There is nothing blocking the view(watch out for trees hanging down in the way!), and you can usually find a great spot about 20 minutes before it starts. It is best to stake out a place at least that far in advance, since it is very popular. There are many places to watch around the world showcase, just make sure that there aren't any poles or trees that would keep you from seeing not only the lagoon, but also the sky around it so you can get the whole effect. I know you will all have a great time, just take a small ball or something for the kids to play with while they wait to keep them from getting board!

One HUGE viewing point ... wherever you choose to stand, make sure the wind is not blowing in your face. Because if the wind is blowing at you, guess where all the fireworks smoke will go ....

Have you thought about hooking up with someone on an Illuminations Cruise? It's a great way to enjoy the show. Check at the top of the Theme Parks board for more info.
