Any tips on a month long rental in California?

DD and I are renting a cottage near the beach for the month of August. Does anybody have any codes or suggestions of companies for a fairly economical way of renting a car (nothing fancy) for a month?

For long term rentals we've had our best luck renting from Enterprise, but your specific situation will dictate the best company/price.

Sometimes it's cheaper to rent from a non-airport location (because of all the airport-related taxes and fees), and sometimes not.

I always start with the Costco website. Generally I get the best deals there. The Southwest website is also a good place to begin to price out cars, but Costco prices tend to be lower.

what city, if LA, try fox car rental. they are the cheapest in my opinion but they are only in a few cities.
