WDW vet, DL newbie here - Kinda of asked this in a different in a prior thread, but just thought I would through this out there and see if anyone had any tips, advice, thoughts, on doing the parks solo - I have a business mtg tuesday the 6th, so I decided to come in saturday morning and got a super rate ($100!) at Paradise Pier Hotel. I plan on being at the parks saturday afternoon and evening (assuming I don't crash!) sunday and monday (that should be enough time for repeat rides on all the e tickets shouldn't it?!?)

one specific question I do have is do you DL experts out there think Indy's single rider line will be open sat. and sun. at least, and if so, how do I access it?

thanks in advance for the insights!

First bit of advice is bring a camera and have lots of fun!:yay: I kind of liked it better on my last trip when my DH had to go to LA for some business and I was all alone. I didn't have to worry about catering to anyone else's needs or be concerned that he would get bored with my photo taking obsession.
You should have plenty of time to get on all the rides you want to go on. SM is very busy due to the layover, but I bet that is probably opening up wait times on Indy. To access SR on Indy, just go to the front entrance where the CM is and ask him for a SR pass. He'll tell you exactly where to go.

one other question I did have was "as a solo" how close to show time can I wait to get to the hub for the halloween fireworks -will I be able to "duck and weave" through the crowds to find a dcent hub spot?

I had a similar experience two years ago. I was in Paris for business and spent three days at DLRP solo. All I can say is that as a solo I felt like I had this infinite flexibility. Seeing parades, restaurants, shows, etc., it was just so easy. I started a real time thread on the DIS DLRP board and that made it more fun because I was sharing observations with lots of DLRP fans - many of them British - and I did not feel quite so alone.

You are on the right track of getting up to speed on all the single rider lines. Your other thread about restaurants - I am sure you will get good advice but in general I do not see how it will matter if you are alone. I ate alone at DLRP for three days and it was no big deal.

Have a great trip. :goodvibes

I, personally, would behave as I behave for fireworks, etc, when I'm with family. I don't duck and weave with them, and I wouldn't alone. A reason we've never gotten a great spot for the fireworks (other than when we saw them from Small World's area, but that's a different sort of great spot) is because waiting with a kidlet is very very tedious. So, as a solo, if I wanted a great spot, I would be much more likely to grab some food, grab my journal and a book, and go stake out a spot well beforehand. Because it's easier for me, as just me, to do that and wait. So I don't agree with snaking a spot last-minute. :)

Work out what YOU want to see, and see it! That's pretty much how I do solo trips. :)

sorry for the bad choice of words - didn't mean to imply moving up to the best spot just b/c I'm by myself - I just have no concept of how far in advance I need to be at the hub - will 30 minutes beforehand be enough for example? At WDW, its just pretty east to find a fireworks spot a few minutes before showtime usually
