I was looking into a RCCL cruise the one I liked best is out of Galveston. I have looked and there is no airport in Galveston. Which would be the closest and easiest, least expensive for the area. I can see myself getting off the flight and finding out im at the other end of Texas with my DS7 in tow. Its a Mom/son trip. DH says no cruising for him but DS and I love to travel.

Should I fly in the night prior and stay overnight somewhere. I live outside boston. So there will be a small time change issue. I have never flown other time zones.

It is only a 1 hr time diffrence, (we are behind Boston by 1 hr) & the closest airport would be Houston. Try usair or delta.

Your best bet would be to fly into Houton's Hobby airport which is on Houston's south side. Houston's Bush Intercontinental is located on the north side quite a distance from Galveston. Galveston is about 50 miles from Hobby airport straight down I-45. Hobby airport is about a mile west of I-45. I-45 can become very congested during morning & evening rush hours. There are several hotels near Hobby airport including the Hobby Hilton which is very nice. Several transportation outlets including rental cars and limosine services are located near the baggage claim area of the airport. There is also an airport at Ellington Field near NASA which is a little closer to Galveston than Hobby but I think service there is very limited. Galveston used to have some service at it's small airport called Shoals Field but it's probably been shut down. If I can answer any other questions ask away.
