Hi Everyone!

This is my first post and we are going to WDW in November to celebrate my "40th" Birthday. We are getting excited and I can't wait. This will be my second trip (first one was in 1975 and I promised myself I would get back to WDW) and my DH first trip.

We booked the Dolphin and have a 'resort view - Kingsize". Can anyone suggest which might be the best wing and room suggestions? We don't mind be on a high floor but I don't want to walk forever to get to the pool/restaurants.

I would like to be able to see Epcot and do not want to get a restricted room. Any suggestions from you "dolphin experts"?

Thanks for the responses .

Well, the experts say the "east wing facing Epcot" is an awesome view, but unfortunately, you say you want to be near the restaurants and the pool, which is definitely the WEST wing! We were on the west wing, poolside (I know you want to be up high, I'm just trying to give you a bearing on the resort), and we were literally around the corner from the restaurants, the gym, within stepping distance to the pools, etc.
The bus stop was about a minute from our room, and the boat stop was not far away, either. The good news is the elevators are LIGHTENING fast!

You need to decide what is in your best interest and maybe come up with a compromise between the two! Good luck, have fun planning and have a great 40th birthday trip!

Check out the other ongoing Dolphin threads-the one with the most activity is "NEW.. DOLPHIN/SWAN...QUESTIONS/AND ANSWERS..TIPS/HINTS.....if you don't get the answer you want here, you will definitely get it there! Plus, it's chalk-full of hints about the Dolphin.

Thanks very much for the info - I appreciate it. :bounce:

Great Advice Joanne...You know I prefer the Upper East (Far) Wing for that unobstructed EPCOT view, but I also love the rooms on the bottom floor on the far East Wing. I would love to leave the slider unlocked and just go in and out from the pool, etc. Did you ever do this? I even see folks do this at the Yacht club, when staying on the ground floor. They also sit outside and lounge on the adorable patios. I'll have to give it a try sometime. DF99 :)

Yes, DF99, we left the slider open (well, unlocked, we closed the door when we were at the pool and pulled the curtain across so you couldn't see in)..now I know for security reasons we shouldn't have done this and I'm not condoning it, but we were so close, we could check on our room from where we were sitting at the beach or pool, plus between the four of us someone was in and out of the room constantly. We sat outside often on the patio with our coffee (or cocktails later on in the day!). We were on the west wing directly facing the beach (with the pool to our right). Loved this area, but most don't prefer ground level.
