Any suggestions on how to get Disney to send me my Castaway Club membership?

We sailed on the Magic last Oct. We're going again this Oct.

Well, that was 8 months ago and I never got anything from Disney about the 'Castaway Club'. I am just concerned about the $200 on board credit I am suppose to get, as well as any other CC benefits. I have appealed to my travel agent to help me, but they haven't come through either. I don't want to get cheated out of these things simply because they didn't send me what they were supposed to!

Anyone else have this problem and figure a way to solve it?

Thanks!

You won't lose any of your goodies that you are entitled to. Don't hold your breath for a member kit. We sailed 9/2001 and 5/2002 and still no membership kit. We did receive our credit and our return gifts on our 2nd cruise.

as long as you have your Castaway Club number then you will be all set. On our second sailing with DCL we did not receive any gift in the stateroom because we did not have a number..although we did get an invite to the meeting with the captain.
While booking our third cruise with DCL, my TA called disney right while I was sitting there with her and got our Castaway Club number for us within 5 minutes... and yes when we got on the ship we had a nice Castaway Club towel in each of the two staterooms as well as pins... Enjoy your cruise!

I cruised May 5th and yesterday in the mail I got my castaway club stuff!!!

Look on the Disney cruise site. There is a number to call to ask. I just gave them my name and the date we cruised...she gave me a number. I never received a kit, but she said she was gonna send me one this time. We'll see!

We called and got our Castaway member numbers. Have it handy and when you use the DCL website for the Castaway form, it pulls up the correct information. Works great once you have the number!!! :)

Ben,

Did you get the Castaway Club Promo they sent out a few months ago? This was the first and only item we received since the cruise. By process of elimination I figured that my CC # was the one hi-lighted in yellow to the right just above the address box. I tried the number on the DCL site to price out a cruise and it worked.

Good luck,

We cruised 7/7/01 and have called on 3 different occasions - to no avail! Seems like a mysterious virus inflicts the agents who take the membership calls - they are never seen or heard from again ;) We are *hoping* our onboard credit will be there. Being told verbally and not seeing it anywhere in any documents is kinda unnerving  , but we'll keep our fingers crossed.

Darwin: was there any mention of the credit in your correspondence/documents with DCL? Or was it just there when you checked-in at port?

happylady - We have received nothing. I guess you were the lucky ones on that cruise! My travel agent suggests that 'everything will be ok', but that doesn't do it for me. I need some physical evidence!

I am in the same boat (pardon the pun) as trishy: A number of phone calls to DCL, all to no avail. Well, I'll keep on trying, but know this for sure - if my on- board credit and other CC perks don't show up on my records, I pity the guest services agent who gets to talk to me!

Ain't I a tough guy? Hey, I just don't like being cheated out of that which is rightfully mine.

Thanks for all the input guys! :)

P.S. happylady, how is Phil? So sorry to hear of his health concerns. He's a fun guy - make him take care of that ticker!!

We sailed 2 1/2 years ago and still haven't gotten anything. Had we known that we could just call to get the CC number, we probably would have booked again shortly after returning from our honeymoon cruise. But never once in the MANY calls I made to DCL to request the packet did anyone ever tell me they could just provide me with the number and then I could rebook!

I wish we would have gotten it but I guess its time to give up hope, eh?! LOL

Ben - Thanks for asking about Phil. He's doing well even though he's still not doing everything the doctors have suggested.

Thinking back about the castaway cay promo card... I received it a few weeks after I made ressie for our 5/10 stay at WDW. Probably just a coincidence.

Say hi to your family......

Call them, call them, call them. It took us about 18 months to get our membership information. When you call have your confirmation number from your first cruise. It is on your documents. They claimed they had no record of our sailing-I felt really down over this-I told them I didn't feel like much of a guest now that I was off the boat. I t finally came through. They had the wrong first name(my daughter's) on the confirmation. Go figure.

I also had to call more than once. The agent told me it had to do if you turned in your comment card at the end of the cruise whether or not you were sent the info. I did get a card and a couple of pins, but that was it. Also I am the only one out of my 3 stateroom (family of 7) that has received this. However all 3 staterooms of returning cruisers last Jan did receive the bags although I only gave my CC # I think my Dreams agent had them looked up for the others since I always book through them. Just got a great quote for booking this week that saved me a bunch again! Thanks Dreams!

How doe it work where people are waiting 18 months- 2 years for this stuff and I cruised May 5th 2002 and got it within a month?? They certainly must not be working on any type system!!

Hi,

I don't know if this has anything to do with whether you get your membership info right away or not but....
I sailed in Feb 2002 and I got my CC info about a month later BUT it is in my daughters name.... (When I enter the info on the DCL site to get quotes it has all my info , so I am not worried about that...)

But my daugher is the one who filled out the cruise comment card that they want you to hand in at the end of the cruise.....And I think she put her name on it so ....

This is a total guess but I couldn't understand why it was in her name... I made all the reservations and that is the only thing I could think of....

Did you all fill out the card?

and the reason I didnt receive mine is the travel agent hadnt given my address. I filled out the comment card on board and dropped it in also. We cruised in April and it was last week I called to find out where our number is.

What exactly do we gain by being a member? I havent ever really understood the concept, but wanted what I paid for.

I called many times and was told each time that the packet would be sent. (Yes I filled out my card on board) Finally after about a dozen calls and over a year I got the packet. Just keep at it.

Cruised in may 2001 and never rec'd the info. Dreams has assured me that they will get the info for us and that we will get the bennies associated with it.

I was making a change to our 10/18/03 cruise, and asked if I should have filled out something to get a card, "Jackie" told me that they no longer give cards, but gave me my #'s for the 4 of us.
I'd still like a card.
