Any suggestions on how much cash needed for 5 days?

This will be our first trip to WDW and we are staying for 5 days. I am trying to budget the amount of cash we would need for souvenirs, snack extras, etc. We are staying on property and are on the dining plan, so alot of the expenses are already covered; however, I have to expect that my kids (ages 7 & 1) would want/need miscellaneous items. Any suggestions on how much extra cash we should budget for a 5 day trip? Also, is it recommended to buy souveniers in the parks or at Downtown Disney? Thank u

I always allot $100.00 per day for out of pocket expenses (we buy the dinng plan too), but don't always spend that much each day. But, I also don't want to go to WDW and see something that we just have to have but we don't have enough money for it.

You're welcome. Like I said, sometimes we didn't use the $100.00 per day but then, sometimes, we used more than $100.00 a day.

Last year was our first with kids.

We budgeted $1000 for the 5 of us for a week. We put all our tips on our room card-- basically spent no cash at all.

At the end of the week, we ended up owing $8 additional.

While my kids aren't the "gimme gimme gimme everything I see" type, we did go out of our way to get some nice mementos-- 2 snow globes, a monorail set, a sweatshirt, a nice watch for me, and so on.

Spending is so subjective as each person is different- What is good for me might not be good for you. I could go on vacation and buy nothing.

When I first took my kids to Disney they were 4 & 6 and were told ahead of time-- affording the trip was all i can afford so there was no money for extras etc-- and they never even asked.

Since my trip for next Sept is being planned I take $25.00 out of each pay and put it on a disneygift card- which will take care of my TS tips and any other miscelleaneous.

Dont forget to budget in tipping which is not included in the plan-
