any suggestions bathroom drain problem

We learned from our plumber that if you use Draino it ends up eating your pipes. We found out because of our leak in the bathroom sink. And yep we had a nice hole in our pipes. So what can you use for clog in the sink without eating up your pipes? Any suggestions will be great. Thanks everyone.

Pour baking soda down the drain and follow with vinegar. Then about an hour later pour a large pan of boiling water down the drain. You may have to do this a couple times for a stubborn clog.

Just read the directions on how to use one properly - Friend of mine got a little carried away & chewed a hole in his plastic pipe .

If its a sink with a stopper, sometimes removing the stopper is where the clog is, just clean & replace.

If it is bathroom drains they sell products that will help clear the drain of hair, which is what clogs my bathroom sink every few wks. No chemicals required at all. My husband found this flexible plastic thingy that you put down the drain and it grabs the hair. Nasty but effective!

I use a metal clothes hanger. Unravel it and shove it down there. Does the trick for me every time.

aren't you taking an awfully big chance that you are going to crack the toilet bowl?..I was told NEVER to put hot water into a toilet????
