Any status report on T-Rex Restaurant?

Any news on when the T-Rex Restaurant will open?

The website says "early 2008" but I'm just wondering if there is any hope in the entire world that means "so early in 2008 that, yes, Tina, you will be able to go there during your late January trip."

OK, we were just at Rain Forest Cafe at DTD. Since I have a huge dinosaur fan living in my house, DS7 I asked. Well, suprise suprise it is running totally behind schedule and is not expected to open until sometime in 2009. I forget what she said the hold up was. They haven't even done anything in the area, it suppose to go over near Mcdonalds in DTD.

I'm glad to see this information. I was looking for where they were putting it (I heard that it would be going next to McD's in DTD) and didn't notice any kind of construction at all while there the past two weeks. I'm disappointed that it is going to be even longer than expected, but I'm glad I wasn't not seeing something that was supposed to be there!

I was just looking at a map of Downtown Disney and the area where the T-Rex restaurant is suppost to go is the McDonald's and the Lego store. So I am wondering is one of those two places going to close so they can make room, or is there enough room without getting rid of something? I personally don't see how the restaurant can fit there, although WDW must know what they are doing.

i may be way off on this, but my understanding is they're building it where there's a parking lot now. something about where the SOG bus drops off. maybe that little loop there.

there's supposed to be (or have been) some parking lot refurb work to better control traffic flow. once that's done, they'll start construction on T-Rex

If this information you posted is correct then thanks for mentioing it, so at least we would know where the restaurant would be located at.

all i don't know is across from fulton's, next to mcdonald's... nothing should be going away... it's kinda hard to look at the map and make a real determination based on that.

I agree that looking at a map is hard to know where it might go, which is why next month my family and I are in WDW we can see all this in person. So by doing that it might make a lot more sense.

There's a large open area next to McDonalds across from Fultons, I always felt there was a whole lot of nothin there & that it was a waste of space, so I could see it going there. The only thing there is like a little "courtyard" with trees & benches & a DVC cart.
