Did you pick up the new album today?? I'm listening to it now...
The Chicago Sun-Times had a review yesterday and it received three and half stars...

It's very toe-tapping and snappy... :dancer:

Not yet, but I saw him promoting it on Good Morning America.

Does he only cover Pete Seeger songs, or are there any new ones from him as well?

I'm a fan, but apparently not as big a fan as some people so I may not qualify. I have a friend who is absolutely obsessed with him and travels all over the country to see him in concert. She lives in NYC and is coming up to Boston in May for his show here. A friend asked her if she was interested in joining him at the Sox game the next day (they share the season tickets) but she said no because she's heading back to New York for a show there. And that's just a small example of her obsession.

I heard an interview with him on Sirius Channel 18 yesterday. It was pretty funny. The interviewer was asking about some of the lyrics to the songs and Bruce was going to read some of them. However, he couldn't see them without his glasses and was joking about getting old.

My birthday is coming up so I think I'll wait until then to pick up the new album. I wish he was coming back to Florida with the new tour but it appears to be a smaller affair with only Northeast dates and one in New Orleans.

I love the boss but I'm more a fan of his older stuff than the newer music he puts out. Although I really enjoyed The Rising. But I love classic Bruce...you know, Born To Run, Thunder Road, Hungry Heart, etc. :thumbsup2

My husband is and he want to Asbury Park last night and saw him. He wants to take our son to a show so bad and has since he was just a baby. He saw Bruce dozens of times on the Devils & Dust tour last year and our son has been asking to go. He knows that when he tours with the E Street Band he will get to go, HOWEVER my husband is trying to talk me into all 3 of us going when Bruce comes to the Camden Waterfront Arena in June. He said this was a show deemed "good for the whole family" LOL. He called me last night on the way home and said the show was not "folky" at all and was kinda Dixie Land jam bandish or something (I was 1/2 asleep when he got in LOL)

Anyway, yes he got the CD today, we tivoed the GMA show yesterday and today and if he only knew about the Sirius 18 interview yesterday he would have snagged the receiver out of my car to listen (he was all set to sign up for a 2nd Sirius subscription when they announced the Bruce Channel, but changed his mind after it ended :guilty: )

Hope all the Bruce fans enjoy the CD today!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :dancer: :rockband: :music:

Keep checking ticketmaster for your town because....
He's got two shows planned already for the midwest - one in Chicago and one in Milwaukee - both in June...

We are catching him at the New Orleans Jazz fest Sunday. I can't wait. I sure hope he plays some of the old music along with the new.

I was a rabid Bruce fan in HS and college--remember buying The River and Born in the USA the day they were released. Saw him twice on the Born in the USA tour in 85 when tickets were nearly impossible to get. I liked Nebraska, but I'm not into his newer stuff at all. Guess I'm getting old too!

I love Bruce. Instead of lullabys when I was a baby, my dad would sing a particular song by Bruce. When I was little, my dad would put his CDs on in the car all the time and I hated him. Eventually, he either grew on me or I started listening and now I love him. My dad and I went to see The Rising Tour when he came. I loved it! I taped today's GMA just to see him perform. My dad and I just finished watching it. LOL. I'm not really into this one. I think between me and my dad, we have just about every one of his CDs. It looks like we this one will not be added to our collection. Of course my dad said half way through the second song on GMA "This is kind of growing on me." So who knows, maybe we'll end up with this CD eventually.

Okay, who was I trying to kid? I knew I wouldn't be able to wait until my birthday so I picked up the CD today. It's very good and I can't wait to check out the DVD portion of the disc.

Glad you enjoyed it! My DH picked it up Tuesday also and thought it was super!
