Any solo DVC owners? I just took the plunge!

I'm a solo dvc owner at akv i will be there in feb 2010 in a value 1 br for a week

Me too! I'm a solo owner at AKV. I'll be there August 2-7 at BWV- 1BR, with a friend.

My DD (31) just bought BLT in May. Single, no kids, but loves her Mickey. Would latch on to him but Minnie claimed him first!

I'm a solo DVC owner as well, bought in 2003 and added on in 2008! My daughter and I love our DVC vacations, life is about making memories.......

I agree with everyone else... DVC is a big upfront investment, but so worth it - especially when you go as often as I do! :} I actually mooch off my parents who are the official DVC owners - lol Luckily I am their vacation planner so that means I get to go! We bought into Saratoga Springs and I love it there; so relaxing :lovestruc

haha- I'm the same way, even though my mom paid for our DVC (BLT) I am the co-owner on the contract, and she bought enough points that we can each take a week vacation and still have some points left over :thumbsup2

OH, you got the Bay Tower! Cool; I am staying there in Nov :} Yes, my name is on our family contract, so I'm considered part owner.... only problem is that I have to share the points with 2 siblings too! lol

Yes, I am very excited about that:banana:

I'm going in Dec, but staying at OKW. I could only get SSR or OKW for all the days, and other people are going, so instead of trying to waitlist at BCV were we originally wanted to stay, we are going to stay at OKW so we know we'll be at the same resort

and it's only my mom and I on the contract :upsidedow

I was just at OKW in May; had a 2 bdrm looking towards the golf course... it was fabulous! Totally love OKW - have you stayed there before?

(oh, and my sibling comment meant I have to share points with siblings as well as parents) tee hee ;)

I've never stayed at any DVC resorts yet, this will be my first DVC trip

and yes, I got your comment, thats why I had to rub it in that I don't even really share- we have enough points for the both of us :rolleyes1

Something struck me just last night. I just might buy the minimum # of points at, say, Vero Beach (cheaper per point) and take advantage of DVC membership benefits now that I live just about 45 min away from the parks! :)

We had that thought also but wound up at BW. But have stayed at VB several times, and it is a nice relaxing getaway.

Hi! I'm single too and own at AKV. My trips vary between solo and with friends or family. However, I really love and look forward to my solo trips.

Yup, I own at VWL, BWV, and GCV. And despite being solo, I still mainly stay in 1-bedrooms - just spoiled by all that space, I guess :teeth:
Me too! I book 1 BRs for my solo trips. :goodvibes

Been thinking of buying more points... LOL will before end of year for my contract. My joint contract with my mom is in good shape with VAK and BLT... Im just out of points for 2009 use year and havent started the use year yet!

Oh, I wouldn't stay at VB...I'd probably stay at BW or OKW.

Yep, I'm single and bought DVC at Beach Club Villas back in 2002 during pre-opening pricing. Love it.

There's no other place I'd rather be for my Food and Wine Festival trips. I've got my December stay there, but I wouldn't mind either "lodge" for that for the holiday decor.

I am really looking forward to Hawaii when it opens, as well as using my points at DLR at the Grand Californian Villas. :goodvibes

Be careful as the dues are considerable higher for Vero Beach, so it might end up costing more in the long run.

If thats your plan, you might want to buy resale at SSR

Well, I hope you enjoy your first DVC stay!

And thanks for rubbing it in about me having to share points... i forsee having to buy my own DVC contract in the future
