Any Skin Specialists?

Hi (I hope I spelt that right) Well recently our DD17 takes a hot bath, her hands will start to sting and go like leather, not even in the water 5 minutes. We thought it could be our water but a couple months ago it did it in a Hotel's hottub. It looks like she has been in the water for days.

I'm not sure what's causing it - maybe eczema.

Do you have a Mary Kay rep in the area (I don't know if they are in Canada). Mary Kay makes a product called Satin Hands that works better than any other product that I have ever used in keeping hands soft. I'm a rep, but I think customs would make it hard to send to you. Google the company - I think they sell in canada, too and you will hopefully be able to find a rep.

Does it start while she's in the tub?
It sounds to me that she may be allergic to something she uses in the bath. I'd make a list of everything she puts in the water and if this clears up, have her try one thing a week to see if she reacts again.
In the mean time, I'd get some cetaphil soap and have her use that only and see what happens.
No lotions or anything afterwards for a few days either.

Hi-This happened to my DH-after just a hot water bath-nothing else-it was just a funky allergic reaction-we took him to emergency care they gave him some meds for it. (once he had a reaction to a medicine and he got so many welts so we are catious now) His skin did not like the hot hot water. I think it may have been a one time thing. the boy still takes baths-I married such a girl (just teasing-his back bothers him so the baths help)
