Happy Labor Day to ALL!

I hope everyone had had a great weekend and safe holiday.

It was too bad that the photo thread got axed but the moderator, but she had every right to do it. I guess we will have to post photos here for the whole world to see or start another photo thread with the only focus being PHOTOS.

Here is one of me from this past May :) I'm at the TOP of the WORLD

I hope this doesn't frighten the youngens....

I'm guessing the photo thread was set up to take pics and this one isn't or the size was too big.

see if this url works

nope...it didn't

if not...well darn it!

I'm in Ellicott City Maryland, which is somewhat near Columbia. Yes, I've been to Annapolis, it's very beautiful there.

OK, so you are closer to Baltimore...or as some down there say....BALTmore. :goodvibes

I need to get down there one of these days. I haven't had a decent crab cake in ages. New England may have great seafood, but nothing beats a true Maryland crab cake. :thumbsup2

HAHA! No, it's Bawl-mer! LOL! Maryland is the capital for crab-cakes my friend. The best of the best is G&M's restaurant. NOthing fancy but they have 1 pound crab cakes with big chunks of back lump crab meat. Talk about good!!!

New England has great clam chowder , right?

BTW has anyone tried the Cape May buffet at the Board Walk? I was wondering if that was any good.

Hi MickeysBestFriend--

I don't see your photo. YOu might want to try again. Can you copy and past your URL or link?

thanks

I understand that Disney is not for everyone...so I don;t make a big deal out of it with my friends.
The single guy freinds that I do have would think of other places they rather go first on a vacation before Disney. I told them that WDW has a nightlife too at Pleasure Island, which I have yet to explore and another reason why I wanted to take a couple of my single guy freinds along.

MBFriend, Budcollector started a thread titled "I missed the photo thread" and we have started posting our pics again there.
Debi even put in a post reminding of the rules.
I had stated only pictures, if you have comments, or messages to someone, that is what private messaging is for.
You should be able to post it there. Your file may just be too big.
By the way, saw on some thread a painting of Mickey, did you paint that?
It is awesome...whether you painted it or someone else, just a great painting.

What is your most favorite "romantic" restaurant at WDW?

I would think EPCOT has the best eateries. Mine would be the Mexican restaurant or the Paris France restaurant (at night, watching the fireworks!) :thumbsup2

What's yours?

Brunette

Hi,

I'm not the most romantic of people, not being successful enough with women to justify developing a romantic side of my personality, so gave the question no thought.

Jim

Oh Jim, stop it!!!
Ok here's a better wording,,,,I'm sure you have dined at alot of Disney restaurants,if you could bring a date to one of them, which one would you enjoy going to with a date?????

California Grill - going out to the balcony to watch the fireworks; they play the music from wishes out on the balcony so it's really romantic.

Oh I got one, not a restaurant, but private and romantic. From my MK view Contemporary Tower room, candlelit dinner room service with the Wishes Fireworks, watched from the room balcony!
If I had to pick a restaurant, hmmmmm....Italy is nice but not very quiet, neither is France, LeCellier is very quiet....love the food, dim lit atmosphere...Very nice.
San Angel Inn is very atmospherically (is that a word?) romantic but have not had a very good meal there in years.
SO yea, I like the private candlelit dinner in the room idea!!!! lol

I personally think that California Grill is romantic, especially during the fireworks, but so is Victoria & Alberts for the intimate type of setting.

I think Narcossees  is at the top of my list...especially if you do it around the time wishes is occurring. I will have to do that again one of these days. :lovestruc

I also enjoy eating at Poly followed by a walk along the beach.

Yep, I painted him. I oil paint when time permits and do mostly Disney stuff but not exclusively. All my neices and nephews have their favorite Disney character done in oil or acrylic or a mixed media. I am working on a Pooh for a friend of mines daughter at the moment and will do a 50th birthday castle painting next. I wish I had time to paint every day :(

I think I have original works of art hanging in more homes than some of these famous artists ;)

Bill

Wow...there are a lot of them. O'Hanas can be very romantic if you get a window seat with a view of the castle and then after dinner take a stroll on the beach or walk down the dock to see the fireworks or water pageant or slip into a hammock and just enjoy the evening. The only drawback at the 'all you can eat' places is the entertainment which is ususally child based and doesn't lend itself to a lot of romance.

Cindy's Royal Feast can be very romantic as well....especially during the fireworks :)

Oh...and I tried to post my photo on the new photo thread and it expired???? at photobucket?

Lets hear some other romantic preferences :)

Bill

Well, I'm just relying on my imagination, you understand--haven't {yet} had the opportunity for a romantic WDW anything, but I have a pretty good imagination...

I'll cast a vote for Spoodles. Not so much for the environment (it's lovely, but can get a bit noisy at times. ) The appeal there is the large number of Tapas-type things that are ideally suited to sharing. (and the dessert tower!) There's something wonderfully intimate about sharing little morsels of food. Maybe even feeding each other...hmmm....definitely a prelude to something a little less public.

Jikos is lovely. An maybe a walk around the savannah hand-in-hand afterwards, followed by a nitecap in the lounge.

For a quirky romantic meal, how about a trip to the drive in (sci-fi, that is) ...hold hands during the "scary" movies... popcorn::

But really, romance is where you find or make it. A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou...OK, make that a rice crispy treat, a dole whip and Wishes. Could be *plenty* romantic in the proper company. (Could be even more fun in "improper" company, but I digress. :smooth: :rolleyes1 )

Nobody will probably agree.... and I haven't been there for exactly one year (tears).. so I don't know how it is now that it's character all the time but last sept my ex fiance and I ate in cindy's castle right before Wishes... it started while we were there.. only 3 other families were there we were seated dead center... under the tall ceilings.. and they lowered the lights and the fireworks lit the room.. our cast members were AMAZING.. it was *VERY* romantic...

I just saw in your sig, something about "December Dismates Delight." Tell me more!! :) :) Pweez? :goodvibes
