Any Single Disney Men Out There?

So I was supposed to start a new project today. So after cleaning up from one that I finished on friday, and then pulling together all the info I could to start the new one, I found my self with time on my hands as the 3 other people I need info from are out. 1 neglected to tell me she had an off site meeting, 1 took a personal day and the third called in sick.

So in order to look busy :surfweb: I chose to do some websurfing and figure out what I would consider some of the most romantic things to do in the World. Here is my list. Feel free to add to it...or steal my ideas

Top 5 Most Romatic places for a walk in the World.
1. The Path from the GF to the Poly
2. The Path from POFQ to POR
3. Anywhere at the WL
4. Anywhere at the AKL
5. World Showcase at Night

Top 5 Most Romantic Places for Dinner in the World
1. Citrico's
2. Narcossee
3. Jiko
4. California Grill
5. Cinderella's Royal Table

Top 5 Most Romantic Ways to end and evening in the World
1. Watching the Electric Light Parade and Wished from the Beach at the Poly
2. Watching Wishes from the boat dock at the GF
3. Watching Illuminations from your favorite spot in WS with you sweetie
4. Having a nice glass of wine on the balcony of your room
5. Sharing and Ice Cream and walking around DTD holding hands

Can you tell I have nothing to do today. :thumbsup2

Sounds great, katydid, sign me up! Oh, wait....missing one vital ingredient to make the "romantic" part successful. :rolleyes1 OK, still working on that one. :stir: Got to believe there's a disney-loving guy for me out there somewhere...hey, if anyone sees him, point him my direction, OK? :smooth:

Sorry about the cat, cinrell, I have lost several over the years. They are all buried in my old yard, we would plant a bush over the site to mark it.

Just got back from the PO, and recieved my new DVC guidebook, in a real fancy box with a 15 year anniversary giclee print. Very nice, makes me want to book another vacation. wish I had more points!

I can tell you that if you are NOT a DVC owner staying at the one, two or grand villas can be very expensive. A studio at OKW off season is $294-$435 a night. I can reserve it with my DVC points same season at (depending on the night) somewhere around $80-$200. A one bedroom, two bedroom and grand villas go up from there.

You can rent points on the disboards DVC page for as little as $10 a point. A full 7 nights in a studio this time of year is 80 points 0r $800 dollars. This is OKW but VWL would only be $1040.

If you can't afford to buy into DVC, consider renting points. It's a great option!

I am NOT a DVC member. I know that it's very expensive - I've looked into the costs for past trips. I may look into renting some points once I know exact dates. No matter where we end up it's going to be pricey - it will be peak season after all. Thanks for the advice MBF!

LOL....CoasterAddict....yes that was the one part missing.....If I find a Disney loving guy...I get first dibbs....but I'll keep my eye out for you. :thumbsup2

Let's see if I can catch up with the various discussions today.

CinRell, I am sincerely sorry for your loss  and for having to make that decision which is difficult for any pet owner. I have had both cats and dogs over the years. And I know the pain of losing a pet as well as having to make the decision that you made today. If you can, try to find that essay that Dear Abbey or Ann Landers used to publish about the decision you made. It is written from the pet's perspective. It will not bring your loved one back, but it may give you some great comfort in your decision.

Sandy given the love you have for visiting WDW you should look into purchasing a DVC, especially if your DBF and you become a LTR couple. There is a website that sells DVC memberships on the secondary market. The cost there can be less than buying brand new from Disney. After I bought, I realized within a couple of years of having the membership, that it paid for itself. And now I feel that I can have a 1BR for Thanksgiving Weekend for a lot less money than if I was a cash paying guest.

Well, time to head back to work. :moped:

Dave, Dave, Dave

The rest of us had no trouble meeting/finding each other at the ME desk. Could you not find it?

Oh, btw....you said "left us" who else did we miss?

Could've been the trip of your life!

Sorry you had to miss it. :rotfl:

I would love to purchase a DVC membership, but right now it seems too expensive. I usually stay in value resorts when I go to WDW, or off-site if the whole family goes, so I tend not to spend for a room what the yearly maintenance fees are.

When I finally decided to buy into the DVC I did a lot of calculations to see if it was going to be a good deal or not. I didn't, but you can finance the purchase. You can buy contracts for as few as 100 points and go much higher. I bought 220 for the flexibility it gives me to go during the holidays or pretty much any time I want.

My net per point including the annual maintenence is around $8 over a 36 year time frame. I can get 7 nights at OKW in January for 80 points. This translates to $640 for a studio that sleeps 4, has a kitchenette, balcony, patio etc. Christmas week would cost me $1176. All Star for a Christmas week would be (if you can get one) over $1500. This is less than a Value and so much better accomodations. With Disney letting just about anyone buy annual passes and use the room discount privilage it gives them, there is almost a zero possibility of booking a discounted room anymore. I can also book into my home resort 11 months in advance.

It is working for me and I know I'll always have a place to stay when I want to go. Try booking a room during the holidays or spring break.

Just a few words....

You are making me miss my DVC so much! I got the DVC in my divorce  he got the boat...a very fair trade I thought. Two years ago I decided to buy a house and it was either sell my car...or my daughter or the DVC...the DVC lost and it was a very sad day! :guilty: I miss OKW more than I could ever imagine...BUT I will own DVC again someday. I am thinking about selling my house when my daughter graduates in May 07 and either buying DVC again or better yet maybe I'll just move to Orlando! :Pinkbounc

Till then...missing my OKW DVC membership....

Gee, I was only in charge of the touring arrangements once we got to WDW...it was a really fun trip. I can only imagine it would have been even more fun if not for the horrible snafu... :thumbsup2

But I'm an understanding sort of girl. Mistakes happen, so I forgive you. :teeth: I'm willing to give you another chance at spending some quality time with me at WDW!

If memory serves....you were suppose to pick up timeless and I...but we were left hanging...and missed all the fun.... :furious:

It was the first thing I thought of after getting home and then I started second-guessing myself but now I think I will do it. But, not for a couple of years.

Have a goal of building a new house next year but once that's done, oh yeah, DVC is ON!

Sure. Tell you what, I'll buy us a round of drinks to apologize for any mix-up from my side. You buy a round to apologize for any mix-up from your side... :drinking1 ....by that time we'll probably have forgotten whatever it was we were supposed to be apologizing about. :rotfl2: :rolleyes1 :thumbsup2

I avoid WalMart for a few reasons. One of which is that the "singles" there resemble something on the shallow end of the gene pool. And I'm not kidding! I can overlook some physical flaws but, wow, we're talking faces of meth type stuff.

Gah!!

Getting shivers thinking of it. ;)

Do you drive all the way to my local Walmart to shop! :lmao: :rotfl2:

CinRell, sorry about your kitty. I had to put my dog to sleep 3 years ago due to cancer. It was worse than my divorce!

I, too, have done a big wedding. I would rather do a small wedding at the Poly beach with the Castle in the background. :thumbsup2

I couldn't have said it better myself. :thumbsup2

The cost for a disney wedding is 10,000 minimum for Mon-Thurs, 15,000 dollar minimum for Friday or Sunday and 20,000 dollar minimum fo Sat.

These prices are for a custom wedding. Intimates start at 2650.....disney weddings actually can be done affordably.
