Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

Ok, so I just did the nasty and booked a RO at POP. DW at first said she didn't want to do it because of some of the issues they have been having with them. So my first thought was if we have issues I will never hear the end of it and did not want to deal with that on vacation. But then I realized I have an out, we can still use our RFID APs as a backup.

Can't wait for them to arrive. You know that once this thing rolls out that the fancy boxes and color choice options are going to disappear. The FP+ was not the deciding factor as we seldom need to use FP in September. I just hat the pain in the neck of digging out then passing out AP's at the gate and then collecting them.

Is it wrong? I don't think it is. We are playing within the rules.

I think that the MBs/FPs are linked to that RO reservation. I think if you cancel it, everything will go with it. I have a package booked at a non-test resort, but had booked a RO for the night before my package starts. I'd originally planned to stay at the Hyatt MCO, but the 30% offer for the RO made the YC cheaper for me. I was offered the MB test because of the RO offer (I'm 17 days out now). Everything for my test is booked with the RO -- that's the reservation tied to my MBs and FPs per the e-mail I received welcoming me to the test group.
 
I dont think you can cancel the RO and still use the bands. Not that I have any clue, but I would assume the bands aren't "activated" till you check into Pop. So even though you may have them, they are linked to that ressie and if that ressie is "dead" they wont work. But I have no idea. I was planning on actually coming in 1 day early just to get the bands. :upsidedow

Hi - Checking into POR on Sept 7th - so hoping to get to test Magic Bands. Thank you to the folks that posted about Be Our Guest Fast Pass!!! Was able to book a reservation using the number on our Yellow Magical Express luggage tags (reservation number did not work). CAN'T WAIT - actually prefer the lunch menu, so having a fast pass is a wonderful bonus! And being able to book what we want to eat at BOG - awesome!! My husband thought I was crazy when I had him look at the menu so I could book his meal (a month in advance)....As someone that had a hard time making ADR (did not want to plan where we would be 180 days before our trip), well I have come a long way!!!

As far as Fast Pass+ overall, hoping to get to test it out - we were part of the group that tested it last Sept. The options were very limited - and we actually did not even need the Fast Passes as the lines were minimal.

25 days to go!

unless thing have changed since the beginning of the month, you my be able to use the fast pass+ part but the magic bands will not have your room key or the ablility to charge or use a meal plan at the second hotel, as they won't have the ability at frontdesk to transfer everything to the magic bands, we did a split stay and were only able to use them for the first part.
 

Not completely sure of that...using the numbers from my Magical Express luggage tags-the yellow ones you put on your bags for transporting them to the resort-I was able to book the BOG FP for 9/21 through the link. I had tried with my package res number and because it had letters in it, it would not go. Someone found out that it would take the magical express numbers, I plugged those in and it worked like a charm. It seems to me that it is in no way linked to the regular site and has nothing to do with FP+ or magic bands. There was a thread over on the dining board that I can't locate now all about this.

I will add that I thought it was very odd that we received our Magical express mail at about 60 days out, normally we would not have those until around 30 days out.

I believe the Magical Express number on the yellow luggage tickets is actually your Disney reservation number. When I made my room reservation through Travelocity, I had to get the Disney reservation number from them in order to book the magic express. I had the confirmation number which began with a "1", but Magic Express needed the reservation number than began with a "4." I assume this is why the Magic Express luggage tag number works to make the BOG lunch reservation. I would think that if you already have the reservation number (beginning with a "4"), it might work.
 
I did not see the option for BOG lunch on any of the days during our stay??? Lucky for us we have a dinner ADR for BOG during our stay.

We ck in on 9/9 AKL Jambo and the MDE Welcome page says 31 days to go in the calendar icon. That number has always been wrong and seems to be going in the wrong direction, i dunno. By my calculations we are 27 days out and every day counts to me!

Then the first item listed under My Plans is our dining reservation for 9/13. Why won't it show the plans for the first day we check in? I did online check in, I can not access FP+ or MB's. I was able to book a BOG fp+ with our reservation number. Is there some thing wrong with my MDE?

Just did it. Even if I just get to use it for one day... I AM EXCITED!
 
Room Only. As in no tickets or meal plan. Just the hotel.

Thank you. Now my problem is that I have confirmed my resort and dining reservations are all linked, yet fp+ is not available even though the option shows on MDE. This is confusing.

What are your dates? As of right now only before September 8th is giving bands and FP+.
 
You need to link your room reservation to your MDE.

That is the part of the problem, because it has already been linked for months, then i added ADRs, and we have like 3 adrs before the 9/13's ADR they keep showing. And then a couple of weeks ago I linked all of our 5 Day WP Hopper tickets that we purchased from UT. I can see all of our stuff, it is just that home welcome page seems to be focused on our 9/13 dinner adr.

Hmmm. When we added our Room reservation it showed up on the main page of everyone's MDE provided they had been appropriately linked to the reservation. Does it show up of you go to that day on the calendar there? On my check in day it shows "Check in Wilderness Lodge"
 
Can I reserve FP+ now and then opt out and use the regular FP system?

My DW does not like the FP+ system, but we want to do the MagicBands.

Yes what EJ said. At least that is what I expect to happen with my split stay. After I switch resorts (if I do get bands for my RO- thats issue #1), the bands will only have the fastpass+ and maybe the park tickets, nothing else related to me "real" 9 day trip at BC.

f they would just put my dates and resort on the docket to be tested it would save so much hassle! :rotfl:

I feel your pain :grouphug: We check in on the 10th. I fear it may be another week before we are "invited". To pacify myself, I booked a FP+ for BOG - line only as I have no idea what we will be hungry for in a month. Am I supposed to link it in some way to MDE?
