Any scuba divers near the gulf coast?

My hubby has had his scuba certification for about a year now and has only been diving in Jamaica (although it was a very nice place to start!!). Well, he has dove in one of our nearby lakes but the visibility is poor. We're looking for some good dive spots so he can go out this summer. We live in central Louisiana but would travel anywhere from Corpus Cristi, Tx to Orange Beach, Al. He has all of his own gear except for the tank. I would dive with him but I tried it once and I was a major 'fraidy cat!!

My husband dives although most of his dives in the last two years have been rescue/recovery dives.

There's not too many places around here - we're half way between Corpus and Galveston. There was a group that would go out to the oil platforms and dove around them. DH liked that - occassionally finding treasures dropped off the platform!

Lake Travis in Austin, TX has a lot of drivers. It's not nearly as nice as Jamaica.

I'll ask DH later when he comes in.
