Any roller coasters that are too intense?

The most intense ride for me is TOT. It depends, is it the drops that are too intense for you, or it is speed and loops. If it is drops that get to you, try RNRC. But if it is speed and loops that get to you, try SM and EE.
Drops and jerkiness are probably what gets me the most.

Reading with interest as I too am nervous about trying RnR.

I can say though that Everest is awesome. My favourite ride at WDW. I feel like it’s slightly more intense than BTMR, but in a fun way. My feeling is that if you can do Space Mountain, then Everest should be okay.

ToT meanwhile is pretty intense. I still really enjoy it, but for me the backwards feeling of Everest is easier on my stomach than the dropping feeling of ToT.

OP, I would be interested to know if you also tried The Mummy, and if so, how did you find it? My DS wants me to try Rip Rockit as well and I’m quite scared. I’m wondering if The Mummy might be a better compromise?

I know you didn't ask me, but I love The Mummy! I can do all the coasters at Disney well, but wouldn't describe myself as a coaster junkie...The Mummy is totally tame compared to RRR, which I would NEVER even consider. I'm trying to get pumped up enough to try The Hulk this year.

I loved the mummy. One of my favorite rides there. We rode it twice. There is a short backwards section and one hill that you accelerate upwards (which is cool instead of the chunk chink chink that most coasters do uphill) but nothing too intense.

Ah the mummy. My favorite coaster in Orlando and the only worthy successor to the older closed down rides

I love coasters! And Rip Ride is actually intense. I know everyone's experiences are different, but the only thing at Disney that comes close to that thrilling feeling for me is RnR. Everything else is just fun, they all feel like family coasters to me, especially if you're in the front row.

Obviously then, don't do TOT, even though it is not rough, your head/back can move around a lot when it surges back up. Also, EE is not that bad, but when it comes to drops it would be the worst. Space Mountain would be the most rough (the one in DW, not DL) but does not have lots of far drops. Primevial Whirl is jerky and Barnstormer is not worth your time. BTM is kind of rough, and SDMT is perfectly fine. If you are good with loops and launches, I would say RnRC is the best for you.

I feel like coaster intensity is so subjective. My least favorite in all of Disney is BTMRR because I find it to be too rough to enjoy. I felt like my brain was rattled when I got off of it.

I think Everest is a fantastic coaster - but even as someone who has gone on it multiple times, I was surprised by how much more “intense” the experience felt at night vs in the day.

EE is just kind of a little bigger BTMR for comparison. Only has one big drop but is mostly turns/helixes, and aside from the lift hill you hardly even realize you're up high. Once you get to the top of the mountain the theming around you you can't see around to look out and see the height. Does have a short backwards section but nothing too intense.

Rock'n Roller Coaster is a bit more intense with a quick launch and a few inversions. Depending on what you didn't like about RRR you might not like it. Honestly don't think RRR is that great because of the constant brakes that really hamper it, but enjoy the individual elements in it.

Coaster wimp checking in! I won't ride pretty much all the the coasters at universal, and won't touch rock and roller coaster either because of the upside down part. I like BTMR and weirdly, Space Mountain though. Trying to work up the nerve for Everest next trip. (which is what I've said before our last 3 times, and haven't rode it yet ;))

I love ToT mainly because it just goes up and down, no other funny business.

I'll go against the flow here - EE is the most problematic coaster for me at WDW. I love R&RC deeply, but EE is a 'once per trip' thing. The backwards part does me in every time - I rode it twice in a row once and barely avoided tossing my cookies.

The one time my older son rode it, he did have a 'protein spill' at that part. (He tends toward more motion sensitivity than most, though.) It wasn't a total loss, though - the ride camera caught him about to lose it, and he used that as his avatar image for at least a year.

Update: I rode RnR today and mostly enjoyed it. The beginning was a bit much but after that it slowed down and was a smooth ride I thought so I was able to enjoy it. My 11 year old though who is 5’4” (and absolutely loved RRR) said that it jerked his head around a lot (I’m 5’9”) so it may be smooth if you’re over a certain height and jerky if you’re shorter. We were in the last row.

Glad you enjoyed it.
I don't think WDW has any rollercoaster that is close to Rip Ride Rockit. No drops anywhere near that tall.
Space Mountain is very tame and slow for a coaster, but seems more intense because its in the dark, no big drops
EE has the backward portion. The drop is not that far and is in a helix rather than straight down, still really fun.
BTMRR seems faster than it is, very smooth, no big drops and lots of turns.
RnR intense start and has inversions. Not as smooth as it used to be.
7DMT has the one drop, again in a helix. Very smooth. Much more fun in the back.
Haven't tried SDD yet.

My heavens, you had hesitations with any ride at Disney and rode Rip Rocket? There isn't anything at Disney even close to as intense as Rip Rocket. DH won't step foot near that ride and he rides anything else, everywhere else. I'm not surprised that anyone that finds a ride at Disney to be questionable was overwhelmed by Rip Rocket. That's a major feet that you got on after seeing it!

I say, if you rode and survived Rip Rocket, you are fine for all rides at Disney.

Well I didn’t have any hesitations about Disney rides until *after* I rode rip ride rocket. It was only then that I thought “oh no, what it other rides are this bad?!”

The only Disney coaster that does a number on me is Space Mountain. One more turn and I would probably need a space sickness bag.

EE has great views and the short section going backwards is about the most intense portion. I really like it.

RnR has an intense launch. Going from stop to full throttle loop has me grabbing for the hand holds. After that it is an awesome ride with cool visuals and soundtrack.

ToT is great and I hate drop rides. For some reason ToT doesn't bother me.

YMMV
