I just received my ronco rotissorie from qvc today and I was just wondering if anyone had any tips before I start using it. what have you made with yours and how did it turn out. thanks

I bought one at a Garage sale last year and have not used it because I dont have the book.

I would love to hear some tips too :)

You set it and forget it...what else do you need to know??!!

I wish I was that nieve to think thats all it took~ I have heard of problems with some of these machines and was wondering what they were. I was just wondering if everything comes out yummy looking like on the commercial. ;)

LOL, Kallison! I have the Ronco Showtime. I bought it around 3 yrs. ago. I love cooking whole chickens in it, sausage, hot dogs and steaks.
The only thing I had a little trouble with was tying up the chicken but it really isn't that hard the problem was me.
Everything is easy to clean.
Binny here is the customer service # maybe you can get a book. 1-818-772-6450.

Hot dogs take 10-15 minutes
Steaks 1 1/4" medium 25 minutes.
whole chicken ( you have to tie legs and wings)
3 1/2 lbs. 15 min/lb.
pork chops 30-35 minutes
sausage 20-25 minutes.
beef kebobs 20-25 minutes.

Pork roast to die for!!! YUM! Just rub on the seasonings...and "set it & forget it".

MY TIPS: Line the bottom tray with foil for easy clean-up. The actual drip pan tray.... not the slotted top piece.

Also, I pour about 2 oz of water into the foil lined pan. It helps cut down on the smoke.

My only complaint is smoke. My house smells like yummy pork roast for days. Burn a candle while cooking.... OR move machine into garage or something.

We LOVE ours! Whole chickens too!

I also use foil when I cook whole chickens.
I haven't had any problems with heavy smoke. Is that just with the pork roast or maybe a small piece of meat is hitting the burner in the back?

We received ours as a gift from the in-laws a couple of years ago but just started cooking with is a couple of months ago.:)
We have used ours for pork roasts (THE best!!), whole chickens, a beef roast & pork chops. Yummy, yummy, yummy!!!!!!!:) :)

I don't have a Ronco, but I have another brand and love it. Chickens are yummy, roasts and pork tenderloins.....yummy. I don't have any problems or issues with it, not even smoke problems. The only major problem right now is it is in storage in the US!!! Some appliances just do not work well on european current even with a transformer.

thanks everybody for the tips and ideas. Has anyone tried hamburgers? I havent been able to make a good beef roast (too dry, or undercooked or over cooked) so I am hoping they will turn out in this machine. I heard the pork roasts turn out great . thanks again.

I bought a Sunbeam and it works great. So far I've only roasted chickens and a turkey breast. I'll have to try pork roast next time.

I love ours. As others have said, chicken...whole and pieces, pork roast, beef roast. I love using the baskets for salmon fillets, porck chops, lamb chops and lobster tail.

Yes, I have done hamburges in the basket. I make them a good thickness, and I believe I cooked them for about 20 to 25 minutes. They came out great. DH loves hamburgers and really liked them.

geez FOJMO cranky today if you dont have anything helpful to add just pass over this thread. I find your comments rude, as for someone buying one at a garage sale and not having a booklet to use it, she can easily get one by calling the number a KIND person gave to her.

Consider it deleted, passed and back-buttoned. Sorry for the interruption...
