Any ROFR news?

Congratulations Kim and Don, that's great news! Now we get to sit back and wait until we're in the system. Things seem to be moving pretty quickly though - I got the call from my realtor on Monday and she said it would take about a week for the closing docs but I actually got them via email on Wednesday. I sent everything back via overnight on Thursday, now I wait some more.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else!

I may have to start a "Closing" spreadsheet soon. It seems a bunch of us are waiting to close. We passed ROFR a week ago Thursday and still no docs. I'll have to call tomorrow.

It's probably not a bad idea to keep our details posted so everyone knows what's going on in case one of us gets hung up in the process. Here's mine:

Passed ROFR on 9/27
Received closing docs on 9/29
Sent docs and check on 9/30 (they should have had them by noon on 10/1)

If you're paying MF's on 2004 points, your deal is a lock

Maintenance Fee's (MF) are the fees you pay on points. For example, on a 200 point BWV contract the MF's would be $4.25 x 200 or $850.00 per year.

On resale contracts if the buyer doesn't pay for the current point MF's it'll be very very difficult to get thru ROFR. Disney would buy back the contract, with the seller paying the fees, and resell the points themselves.

So if you are paying the MF's you have a much better chance at getting thru ROFR.

Although, at $77 a point I still wouldn't start stressing (easy for me to say now). Ours passed Friday ...BWV at $78 ppt and Seller paying all '04 MF's (170 pts.)

I'm jealous. I passed ROFR on September 23 and still haven't recieved closing docs. I was hoping that this process was going to easier than ROFR. In my case I guess not!

Seeing all your dates is confirming my worst fear---for whatever reason, my closing has been delayed by the tts people.

9/14 --passed ROFR and sent in first set of docs to closing people

9/22--asked to resubmit first set of docs to closing people (they later said they found them)

10/1--rec'd second set of closing docs (title search, final amt. due, etc)

10/4--will mail the docs and check in via overnight mail

It is definitely risky, lsyorke, but ROFR has been known to surprise us. Generally, $73-$74 has been a safer offer. If you have the time (not to mention the patience) to wait it out...go for it.

You may get quite a bargain!

If your selling, it shouldn't be a big concern as long as your satisfied with the offer. If it doesn't pass ROFR, Disney buys the points from you at the offered price.

lsyorke, who are you doing business with? We just put down a deposit on a VWL contract with the Timeshare Store. They told us that anything under 73$ rarely makes it through rofr for VWL. We offered 75$ and the seller accepted, but I am still worried about making it through rofr. You can try anything, but I don't want this to drag out. I would love to close ASAP so we can start making plans/ressies for next year.

Oh, I see you are selling. I would think you would get much more for VWL.
