If you do a search, you will see some recent reviews--both pro and con. Personally, it is one of two Disney restaurants we will never go to again--terrible service, filthy environment and mediocre food.

We ate at H&V last Sunday with the Fantasmic package. I almost cancelled because of all the bad reviews, but we really wanted to use the preferred seating at Fantasmic. We really enjoyed the food at H&V, especially the ginger chicken. Our server was wonderful. The restaurant was clean, but the bathrooms needed a little care, but they serve both the Prime Time Cafe and Hollywood and Vine, so they have a tremendous amount of traffic.

We did dinner there once and it was the worst food I ever had. THe service was just as bad....wont ever go back here again

Oh boy. You're going to get a lot of different views on this one! :)

Personally, it's our favorite restaurant. My husband and I cannot WAIT to go get to this restaurant every year. We especially love the BBQ meatballs. :)

Take what you read on here (and anywhere really) with a grain of salt. What you love, I may not and vice versa. It's always worth a shot (for any restaurant) and if you don't like it, you know now to go back.

Have fun!!

We also have the Fantasmic pkg with H&V. Sounds like it is hit or miss. Hope we get a hit!

We did H & V 4 years ago with the Fantasmic Package. My family LOVED the food (2 adults, 2 now teenagers), loved the buffet idea, had a great, although beleaguered server (sp?). My only recollection of the atmosphere though is; like kids swinging from chandeliers. A lot of noise, and commotion, and frenzy. Our server was so good to us, because we were just sitting and minding our own business and dining; but you could tell the poor guy was just knackered. If food was the only issue we would go back, but are well beyond the circus atmosphere at this point.

We did this last year for the Fantasmic priority seating. If there is one restaurant on property that I will never step foot in again it is Hollywood and Vine! Worst service on property, dirty restaurant and lousy food.

we had that last thurs and it is brutal...the food was ok but the characters toke about 45 mins to get to us..it was a joke and i recommend that no 1 ever go there..stay away from therepirate:

Eh we didn't really care for it..to date that was our worst meal at Disney...just blah food.

Is Prime Time cafe part of the fantasmic package? I never ate there but I would pick there.

I wonder if it is hit or miss with this place. Our first time it was fantastic, I couldn't wait to take my mom there on this last trip. The food, while not horrible, just was not as "wow" as I remembered from the first time.

Our server, Sharon, however was the best server I've ever had in all my trips to WDW.

I really think you won't know by reading, you'll just have to chance it and try for yourself as everyone's idea of good is different.

Most everyone here raves on Wolfgang Puck Express, and that was our absolute, hands down, worst meal, will never go there again and is forever referred to in our house as "Wolfgang Yucks".

I don't think you have to worry about characters, they aren't at the dinners, which is what you have to get for the Fantasmick Package. We try to get the earliest dinner seating, around 3:30pm, so we have a big breakfast around 10, skip lunch, have the Fantasmic dinner, then a popcorn or something later during the show.

Chef Mickey's is 100x better, and Chef Mickey's kinda sucks. Sorry I couldn't be more positive.:scared:

It's one of our must do restaurants-we really enjoy their buffet-the spoonbread, seafood pasta yumm. Service has always been good .
Try it, you might just like it.:goodvibes

We seem to also be in the minority. We eat there nearly every trip and have never had bad service or food.

hmmmmm.. alot of mixed reviews, I guess we are going to have to jump in and try it and hope that we are with the good reviews. here goes nothin:wizard: spreading a little disney magic:wizard:
