I just saw this place on allears and it sounds great but I never see any threads about it. Anyone been there, and is it as good as it sounds? Thanks.

We really liked it. Granted that was last year, but I doubt it's changed too much. We walked in about noon without an ADR (don't know if they take ADR? thinking they do), were seated within 5 minutes. Food was good, service was good, no complaints from me!

We ate there in Dec and thought it was good... Think Applebees or something along that line. We had very nice service. I would urge you to eat outside if given the choice... We ate inside and it was loud and the tables were small and it was very crowded!

Oh gosh, you may have just ruined it for me. I HATE applebees. Might have to rethink this one. Are ADRs really necessary here? Our trip is in October.

We love it, and don't find it like Applebee's at all. Much fresher food and not so greasy and fried. Lunch there is always a tradition for us! So nice to sit outside and overlook the Epcot resorts and lake.

I go to Big River at least once for lunch on every trip to Disney. Good food and great beers. That being said, a lot of people on these boards don't like Big River, so you will likely hear some negative reviews as well.

Big River is pub food. Nothing great, not horrible. It used to be very good, a few years ago. It (food quality) has been going steadily downhill the past couple of years. Service has always been hit or miss. I't's okay for a beer and a burger (I borrowed that line from Uncle Romulus), but anything else on the menu is a roll of the dice. The meatloaf has seen better days......
Good location, and eating outside can be nice with the right weather conditions.

Good pub grub (PP mentioned Applebees) and very good beer, not that I'm interested in that sort of thing, mind you!

The "Passporter" commented that the food and service were not very good and noticed that the floors were dirty. That turned me against trying it!!

BRG=Good beer; lousy food and service.

I think it's a mediocre, chain, American food restaurant. Nothing you can't get at home, that is, unless you're seated on the Boardwalk! I have been told it's a great exp if you're seated out there. Inside it was blah.

Food was fine. Basic chain fare. Doubt you need a reservation, if they even take one. We walked in and it was mostly empty.

We have never eaten there but were considering trying it out while we are there this Sept. When I tried to make an ADR the CM told me it was a great restaurant but they do not take ADR's, walk ups only.

On the West side of the Boardwalk.

We quite enjoyed it. It's lovely to sit outside and enjoy the Boardwalk, and we found the food to be quite good--I liked the hummus appetizer and we both enjoyed our entrees (meatloaf and a cheeseburger).

Big River is not a national chain. They are located in:
Florida

Lake Buena Vista

Tennessee

Chattanooga

Chattanooga (Hamilton Place)

Nashville

They started in Chattanooga........I have never ate at the one at the Boardwalk but will try it the next trip. We love the one(s) back home.

We are trying this for the first time in November. I hope the weather is nice and we can eat outside. We won't get there until about 8:30pm though.

You are correct that there are only four Big Rivers, but they are owned by Gordon Biersch.

I've written on this a couple of times before, but while I give their Chattanooga location great reviews, their Boardwalk site was a huge letdown, not only in the limited selection and preparation of the food, but also atmosphere and their Hefeweizen was especially poor.
