Are there any specific tasks you need to do upon checkout? Like loading the dishwasher or something?

Thanks

no, nothing specific.

However, if you're in a 1-2-or 3 bedroom, the fridge and cupboards should be emptied before you leave, otherwise the cleaning crew has to deal with disposing of left over groceries etc.

We typically strip the bed and place all bedding, towels in a huge pile by the door. We clean out fridge, cupboards and any un-opened items we take with us and drop off at bell services...they appreciate water, chips, soda, etc. extra laundry detergent I leave on the counter, in hopes the cleaning crew will take for their personal use.

I do start the dish washer, but have heard that what ever we wash gets washed again, because cupboards are emptied and all dishes are washed. I'm really not sure this is 100% true, as there are a lot more than one cycle worth of dishes in the cupboards!

What ever you can do to assist housekeeping to clean the unit faster so the next guest can get in will be appreciated...but I was never told I had to do anything upon checkout.

enjoy your stay!

There are no "requirements" you can leave the room whichever way you feel comfortable.

We cleaned the dishes (we were in a studio so no dishwasher) stripped the bed, piled the towels and emptied the trash, but we had time to do that. If we had an early flight we probably wouldn't have done all that.

No - there is nothing that you NEED to do.

but you can if you want - you don't have to.
