Any regrets????

We are seriously considering DVC (have been for a year) -- does any one have regrets about purchasing? Any tips?

Absolutely Correct!!! As many times as my family has gone it could have been paid in full. We bought 160 in '05 and are already thinking of an add on. Good Luck.

No regrets at all! We've been members since January of 2000 and it was one of the best things we've ever done! Do I wish we had bought in sooner? Sure, but we couldn't afford it any sooner. I'm quite happy with our purchase. We've also done one add-on since our initial purchase.

No regrets here, either! However, we toured DVC 3 times before buying & I am very glad we took our time. We ended up buying into BCV while it was still under construction, & it has been a perfect fit for our family! Not only has it been great for us, but now my parents have become Disneymaniacs & bought into DVC (SSR) & they are thoroughly enjoying it!

No regrets here! We've added on twice, are now up to 350 points. I would definitely try to buy at the DVC resort you like best, however. (If you like VWL at Christmas, make sure you buy there -- resale market).That 11 month window makes a difference at peak times of the year.

Yep, our only regret is not buying in 1992 when we first heard about it, and not buying enough points right away. We ended up nearly doubling our points after just one year.

For me it would have been not buying at Beach Club. We love that resort. We will probably do an add on in a year or so to have some points there just for the wife and I to use every other year.

Absolutely! Should have done this years ago & should have bought more points! We'll be looking into a resale soon to add on.

Our two regrets are that we didn't even bother to look into it in 1992 because we had a son in college and didn't think we could afford it, and that we didn't buy more points when we did finally decide to join DVC. No regrets otherwise.

Only when i get my dues statement. I do regret not buying sooner. This board isn't a great place to look for people with regrets tho - we're mostly DVC addicts.

absolutely NO regrets!! our contract is going out signed & sealed in tomorrow's mail.....it might be a little of a crunch but knowing how often we go ( and manage to afford it) and the value of WDW - for us the only regret would be putting it off...

ps/ we've already upped our points after looking over our needs & desires ..and when the next DVC is announced, we will seriously be looking into that as well! what better gift for my family??!

When I look back and figure how much we spent on WDW vacations over the years before buying in I get a little queasy....

No regrets....We started with 200 points in 2000 and have added points every year so far. We are now up to 420 points a year and love it. My plate on my car have DVC 00

If you love Disney nd go often I dont beleive you will have any regrets, I can say how much my family loves DVC, its wonderfull.

Only regret we have is not doing it sooner. The Beach club villas are our home resort and we LOVE it!! I've taken romantic Disney quick getaways with my wonderful DH and 2 week long summer vacation with my children. This year we're inviting 2 cousins and their kids for a mini family reunion. If you like Disney, this is the way to go.

I regret buying one large contract (306 pts). In hindsight we should have bought two identical contracts (153 ea) for estate and (heaven forbid) liquidation purposes.

Other than that, I wish we had bought sooner.
