Any regrets booking an inside standard stateroom?

We've only ever done inside rooms and have been perfectly happy. I take the savings, book a placeholder and apply it towards the next cruise. :flower1:

I know most people like the inside room but if you're claustrophobic (as I am) then it may not be the best for you. On the one trip I took in an inside room (to save $, of course) I spent a lot of time upstairs, in the Rainforest Room, etc doing things to avoid the room. Not a good fit for me.
My parents as well as my brother and his family all enjoy inside rooms so it's just me, apparently. My guess would be you'd enjoy it.

So I take it your looking at the inside without the split bath. If so for a short cruise with one adult and one child I would totally do it. Personally though, if you do end up with one or two more adults traveling I would book a deluxe inside if it isn't a huge price difference. My husband, son and I were in a standard inside on the Wonder and the smaller square footage was noticeable to us and felt crowded along with missing the split bath. We were only on a 3 night sailing so it was fine but we all agreed any longer and we would have been miserable without a bit more space that the deluxe inside gives you.

I just did a standard inside on the Fantasy last week. When I first got there, I was very worried about how small it was. However, DD4 and I were able to fit just fine. We loved the porthole and it definitely helped it not feel claustrophobic. We did say several times though that there is NO WAY we could have put 4 people in that room.

Pros
We slept late because there was no natural light
The porthole was fun
Saved money

Cons
We would not have been comfortable with more than 2 people as there were only 1.5 closest and 3 drawers. I guess with a short cruise you could probably put 1 more person in there, but it wouldn't have worked for us on a 7 day.
The layout door-couch-bed meant that my daughter couldn't go to bed and my dad or someone come watch her. The TV and the door were on "her side" so once she was done for the night, so was I.

On our two cruises (Dream and Fantasy) we have stayed in inside staterooms on deck 2. We loved them--especially the magic porthole. 2 people in the room was great. More might be a bit crowded. I specifically chose deck 2 because I read in a lot of places that you are less likely to feel movement lower down. I never had any problems. Like other posters said, deck 2 is VERY convenient to most things (except the pools).

The way I see it, all the staterooms go to the same place, and I have other things I'd rather do with my money.....

So, I just put a hold on room 2525 on the Dream for September. I have only cruised with Disney twice, both times I had more people with me and we were in the deluxe family oceanview. This time I am going to brave cruising with just myself and my 4 year old, and since I am totally addicted to DCL now I am trying to get on board the cheapest way. Just wondering if anyone else has booked an inside and regretted it, because of smaller space or lack of view? Is it worth it to spend a few hundred dollars more for the oceanview? Also, if I could maybe talk my sister or a friend into coming along, would there be enough room to add them in this type of room if I choose to? Thanks
We've sailed inside on a 3-night and 7-night, and loved both. I considered an overpriced port upgrade just before setting sail on the 7-night, and am glad I decided to save my money. It was pleasantly cozy, and the magical porthole on the Dream class ships is charming. I agree with other posters that a standard inside is better suited to 2 passengers than 3. After our cruise on the Fantasy, I started this thread about sailing in DCL's inside staterooms:

We did an inside room on our Alaskan Cruise. We were wavering because EVERYONE says if your going to do the verandah Alaska is the place to pony up the extra cost. We did not regret the inside room at all! We were always on the move and basically just slept there. And in Alaska the sun only sets for about 5 hours, so that inside stateroom was nice and dark for great sleeping conditions. There were placing all over the ship to enjoy the views. And all that money we saved on inside vs verandah (a verandah was double the cost of our inside room) we used and went on: a small boat during Tracy Arm day and got right up close to the glacier as well as an uncrowded views the entire day because we were not fighting the entire ship wide crowd to see, a helicopter tour out to a glacier and did a walking tour ON the glacier and a glacier flight seeing sea plane tour out to Taku Glacier Lodge and had lunch with a glacier view and some bears! I think if you know your going to spend most of your day around the ship, or you want to experience some epic Port Adventures, saving money by booking the inside room can be just fine.
