HI, We are going to Walt Disney World in July and this will be our first trip there. Does anyone have any suggestions on where we should make reservations to eat at ahead of time? Or shows or character breakfasts that are a must? I have 3 small children and want to make sure we see and do as much as possible. Any recomendations would be great! Thanks!:D

I would suggest making a PS for Chief Mickey's and Hoop de Doo. You children will enjoy both of these. HDD is a comedy dinner show with singers that involve the audience.

Okay... were to begin!!!!

Breakfast: Crystal Palace character breakfast (our all time favorite meal at WDW), Chef Mickey's character breakfast, Princess Storybook Breakfast & Cinderalla's Castle character breakfast (although they are not on my must do list, they are favorites among many, many people)

Lunch/Dinner: Rainforest Cafe (kids will LOVE it... beware... there is a mock "thunderstorm" every 30 minutes or so), Sci-Fi, 50's Prime Time

Here is a list of menus from WDW... Hope this helps!!!

My - ahem - personal faves ...

BEST CHARACTER BREAKFAST: 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Mary Poppins politely poses for pictures and her buddy Bert works the room. You also get cameo appearances from either the Alice in Wonderland gang or one or two Pooh critters. Food is EXCELLENT, too.

CLOSE SECOND: Cinderella's b'fast in the castle. Good luck getting in, though. But it IS a trip to see all those princesses flitting around the room. And I got a kick out of the waiter in tights who came around frequently and asked "More coffee, m'lord?"

BEST CHARACTER DINNER: Again, 1900 Park Fare. I know. I'm prejudiced. But the tiny burgers and chicken fingers are great, even you are NOT a kid, and the deserts -- key lime pie and bread pudding with vanilla sauce -- are awesome.

BEST 'OTHER' MEAL: Wolfgang Pucks, at Downtown Disney, has a wide selection of fun pastas and pizzas for lunch and dinner.

BEST SHOW: Hoop dee doo, hands down. The food is good and plentiful, and the entertainment a blast. Fun for the whole family! Get there early and visit the petting zoo nearby.

SECOND BEST SHOW: La Nouba. But the ticket prices are steep, and so is the seating; some of the jaw-dropping acrobatics had my wife almost terrified, it was so dangerous. But it's an awesome spectacle.

BEST GROWN UP MEAL: Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian.

SECOND BEST: Jiko, at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

MOST OVERLOOKED SPOT: Aunt Polly's in the Magic Kingdom. Neat place to go for pb&j and a break!

Bon appetite!

hoop dee doo revue is an absolute must.

our favorite characture meal is the liberty tree tavern for dinner at MK.

Pecos Bills has great burgers and is less expensive counter service in the MK.

Whispering Canyon has a wonderful breakfast and so does spoodles.

Cape May Cafe has a great dinner for sea food lovers.

Sci-fi dine in at MGM is another we always do.

The corel reef at epcot is great. arrive early and ask to wait for a tank side table.

Hi there...

Congrats on your first trip to Disney... have fun planning it.

I am not sure how old your kids are but if they like Pooh and the gang I recommend the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom for breakfast... Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and occasionally Piglet.

Another fun breakfast is the Restaurantasaurus (sp) at Animal Kingdom - here you may meet Donald, Pluto, Daisy, Goofy - and we saw Mickey there too - but apparently that is not always the case.

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary to meet the main mouse.

I would not recommend La Nouba for little kids... it is a long show and kind of "weird" my daughter was bored and fell asleep - it is amazing for older kids and adults but wasted on the little ones (my opinion only)

The character meals are a good way to see characters in a controlled setting - and you have to eat anyway, right?

Don't stress - there are lots of characters in the parks to see too.

Where are you staying?

>>^..^<<

There's only one thing wrong with going to WDW - it's contagious and you'll want to go again and again!! I would also recommend the Rainforest Cafe, and Chef Mickey's. Another favorite is Beaches and Cream. Have a great trip!!! Annmarie

I will second the Donald's breakfast at AK as sometimes Donald can be hard to find if he is a must on your kid's list of characters to see. It was also the best meal of our trip.
Chef Mickey's for dinner is a great starter to a trip and your kids will have gotten to see 5 or 6 characters right away. Autograph books are $6.00 and available at the WDW resort gift shops and also at the gift shop at the Contemporary on the same floor as the restaurant.
Crystal Palace for dinner was really good this year and they had a small parade that the kids could join during dinner.
One warning, don't try to do it all otherwise you will be exhausted when you get back. My sister's twins do better with an afternoon break. They were 3 1/2yo on our first trip and still needed one this year at 5 1/2. Have a good trip!

Congratulations on your first trip. I wish I was you, seeing all the things for the first time.

I would suggest Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's and Liberty Tree Tavern. These are all a must for us on every trip.

Hope you have a fab time!!!!!!
