I'm trying to come up with a new dip recipe to serve with crudités for a Thanksgiving appetizer. Something sour cream based maybe. Does anybody have any good suggestions?

When I want to prepare something with calorie counting in mind I mix fat free sour cream with Arizona Heat mustard and if I am feeling really fancy I throw in cilantro as well. I usually serve with pretzels. Arizona Heat is a type of mustard made by Koop's

Cream cheese blended with jar of picante sauce. Works best if you mix it in the food processor. This is great with crudites and with tortilla chips.

IMGONNABE40! and DisneyCowgirl, thanks for the ideas. I'll have see if we have that brand of mustard here in FL. I'm not sure I've seen it before. I've made the picante and cream cheese before- that is yummy!

I like sour cream & salsa. the spinach Dip is great

1 pkg frozen chopped spinach, drained and squeezed dry
1 pkg Knorr's vegetable soup mix
1 small can water chestnuts, chopped
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise

Mix the sour cream and mayonnaise together in a bowl. Pour in the soup mix, water chestnuts and spinach. Mix thoroughly and refrigerate for at least four hours. Stir before serving.

Here is my fave (best with veggies):

1 cup mayo (NOT Miracle Whip)
1 cup sour cream
1 Tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1 Tablespoon dried dill weed
1/2 Tablespoon Lawry's Seasoned Salt
3 Tablespoons minced onion

Mix, let sit overnight in frig for best flavor, serve. I like to serve it in a bell pepper (cut the top off, remove the seeds and ribs, wash and dry, then spoon the dip into the pepper).

My grandma used to make veggies & dip every holiday. She used Lipton Onion Soup Mix and cottage cheese. If you use a food processor to mix it, the cottage cheese gets more smooth and it's not as fattening as sour cream.

It's not sour cream, but hummus is always good. :)

That is my favorite spinach dip-i usually leave out the water chestnuts and add a green onion or two. I serve it in a pumpernickel bread bowl and usually put baby carrots with it. Yumm. Now I'm hungry, lol.

Here's my favorite. It's easy and tasty.

1 large tub of sour cream
1 1/2 packets of Good Seasons Italian dressing mix

You can add as little or as much as you like of the mix, but that's how I usually make it.

These are all really good ideas!! Thanks for the feedback!

I love this dip. A friend from Texas gave it to me years ago and it is still my favorite.

Herb Dip
1 c mayo
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 t worcestershire
2 t drained capers
1 t crushed mixed herbs
1T grated onion
1 t salt
1 1/2 t lemon juice
1/8 t curry powder
1 T parsley
Blend all ingredients in food processor.

Or else I just pour out some Cardini Caesar dressing into a cup and pretend that I made it from a secret recipe.
