Any recent feedback on Hotel L'Elysse?

I'm going to DLP with my parents in Feb 2013. We'll be staying for 4 nights and I'm planning to be at the park for the whole 5 days. However, my parents aren't Disney nuts, and will probably spend a bit of time at the parks, and a bit of time in Paris. I think they (especially Dad) would be overwhelmed with a Disney hotel, but none of us want to have to contend with a shuttle, so I've been looking at the Val d'Europe hotels.

We all think Hotel L'Elysse looks lovely, and seems to be in a very convenient location supposedly just across the road from the train station. I've read some reviews on Trip Advisor which seem ok, but I'm really after some feedback specifically with reference to DLP. It doesn't seem to be that popular for DISers and I'm wondering what the reasons are.

I'm definitely considering getting an AP for myself, but my parents will probably just get tickets for 2 or 3 days. And we're not big breakfast eaters, so not fussed about not having it included. We'll be happy grabbing something from a bakery or cafe on the way, then maybe a coffee and a Disney treat for morning tea :rotfl:

Hi this is my first post on this board but we stayed in the Elysee during half term and were very happy with it. We paid about £70 per night for 2 adults, 1 child and a baby which seemed very reasonable compared with the disney hotels. We already had park tickets thanks to the Sky offer so it suited us not to have a package. We are big disney fans but have never stayed on site so I can't compare, but it was comfortable, clean and a very convenient location just over the road from the station. The only real downside was that when we tried to get the hotel shuttle bus back after the Dreams show on the first night it had already left, even though we legged it out of the park as quickly as we could (with a 4 year old in tow!) so the rest of the trip we just used the train. No breakfast included but we treated ourselves to breakfast at the DLH every morning which was lush :goodvibes

Hope that helps :)

Thanks missiemouse! That's a great help :thumbsup2

We wouldn't bother with the shuttle at all. How did you find the train?

The train was fine, the ticket machines translate so it was easy to buy them (about 1.5E from memory) and we never had to wait more than 5 mins for a train. The only problem we encountered was sometimes when we put the ticket in the slot it didn't open the gate and as there was no one around to ask we were a bit stuck. But we just waited for the next person to come along and went through behind them.

We're hoping to go again next Easter and will probably stay there again. I like the idea of staying onsite but unless there's an amazing deal we can probably stay an extra 1 or 2 days if we stay at the Elysee.

Sounds great! I think we're just about sold on it :goodvibes Will just wait to hear what Sammie thought of it ;)

Got back late last night!!
I would totally recommend it! We got breakfast included in our price (£95 for 3 of us per night) and we all thought breakfast was yummy usual continental but plenty there and no rushing or pushing. The shuttle bus runs frequently every 20mins EXCEPT between about 12 and 2 when it only runs once. We had to leave dreams 5 mins early to catch last bus back and if we went again I would use the train on way back late at night. We used the train to get there first day checking in and it was easy to use and literally just across the road from the hotel. The hotel was very clean, beds very comfy, lovely power shower. I have stayed in Disney Cheyenne before and we all agreed that the only bonus for staying there are the magic hours. If (when!) we go to DLP again we will be choosing to stay at Elysse again. HTH

That's great news thanks so much sammie :-) I think we'll go ahead and book!
