Just looking at booking a quick trip to Disneyland on Sunday May17th to Friday May 22nd and we are thinking about staying at the Ramada Maingate.

I had a look on the Disneyland website and noticed the park hours, etc. are not on there.

Would there be any reason not to go on these dates? Do you know of any special events that are happening and would make the parks overly busy?

Any reason no to stay at the Ramada?

Thanks!:)

Just the fact that it's leading up to Memorial Day weekend.....otherwise nothing that any of us know about (unless we just found out). We will be there the 23rd-26th. Yup, busy busy weekend but that's OK, my bday is on Monday. :)

We went that week last year. It was a good week. It wasn't super empty, but it was pretty good crowd wise.

Last year the hours were 9-8 that Monday -Wednesday and then on Thursday it was open 9-9 geting ready for the Memorial Day weekend crowds. I would assume that Mon-Thurs would be nice but expect more crowds on Friday as that is the beginning of a long weekend.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm going to book it but may do a little more research on hotels.

I go every year Memorial Day weekend and find it very pleasant. In fact I love going during that holiday and Labor Day weekend.

Enjoy!

You consider six days to be a "quick" trip?!? At our house we would call it a "miracle" to scrape together that much free time in one shot. We had to plan a year out to do a trip that is a day shorter than yours, which itself is our longest vacation in about seven years.

But to answer your original question, I hope there is nothing wrong with your dates because we are going from Sunday May 17 to Thursday May 21. We are disappointed that both Fantasmic and the Electrical Parade are down (and Peter Pan, if I'm not mistaken) but other than that I still think it will be a fine time to visit the parks, if I have been gathering the information correctly.

Yes, it seems like a quick trip when you are traveling from Canada.;) We will arrive at our hotel around 3pm on the 17th and the 22nd we will have to leave in the morning to be at the airport a couple of hours ahead of our flight time.

We were last at Disneyland in August of 2007 and we did see Fantasmic, so we are not too disappointed about that. Too bad about Peter Pan. We were looking forward to doing that again.

Last trip we didn't take the time to try and get on Nemo. It had just opened and the lines were crazy. Maybe this time we will make it.

We are booked at the Hamptons Inn this time and are going to be taking the ART. Last time we stayed at Hojo's and walked back and forth. So we will see which method we prefer.

We are also from Canada and are going to be there May 13 - May 20 and find it to be a quick trip. I noticed on the disney website that they have hours up until May 18th and they are slightly extended on Monday so maybe that means it is going to be a bit busier of a week.
