Any race fans crusin' ??

Any race fans cruisin' for the 4/6 - 4/10 '03 cruise on the Wonder ? This'll be our first Disney cruise, and the first cruise ever for our 4 year old girl. We can't wait !!

We're pretty avid race fans... Nascar mostly, but anything noisy with wheels that drives in circles will do in a pinch. We try to take in a race here and there, but mostly keep up with things via the boob-tube. I do the fantasy racing league stuff and have a blast with it. It's a whole lot of fun. If you've got anyone that's into the fantasy racing stuff, they might want to check out a pretty slick information site that I ran across... www.fantasyracingresearch.com it saves me a bunch of time making my driver picks for the week's race. The fantasy deal ain't the real thing, but it might be the next best thing. (A whole lot cheaper too !)We might like to catch up with some other racin' junkies on the cruise to do some bench racing if possible.

Hey... got a question for those who've had first time cruising 4 year olds. We're a little concerned that things might go one way or the other for her. She'll either love it, or hate it. If she loves it, we're in good shape for those 4 days... if not... might not be such a fun trip. Is there anyone that might be able to give some feedback on how thier kids have liked the cruise vs, going to the parks at Disney World? We'd like to get some feedback from those that have done both with the kids.

Yes.......NASCAR fan here, however, we are cruising a few months ahead of you- in February. Last cruise was in March 2001 (7 day) and could not catch the races on tv anywhere on board that Sunday. Arg. It was early in the race season, so the anxiety over the points race had not set in at the time yet. I'm an advocate of the Internet Cafe'....keeps you up to date with the world left behind! Sorry, I can't help you out with your 4 yo. No youngsters in our travel party.

OOOH! That's not good news! We're cruising in March and I was assuming DH would be able to go to the Skybox on Sunday to catch the race before sail off! Actually, the day we disembarked our first DC in '01 was the fateful day in Daytona! We were watching the race in the airport, boarded and when we arrived home, we heard the sad news!

DH and I are NASCAR fans (GO MARK MARTIN! ) and were dissapointed we were unable to see the race on the 9/28/02 cruise. Our plan was to find a bar in Key West to watch it but, hurricain Lili cause us to miss KW.
In my letter to DCL I did mention this as one of the things I wish they would change.(my letter was FULL of praise for our cruise, but I did make some "suggestions" including expanded TV/Sports/News coverage)

We were at Disney's Hilton Head Resort on that fateful day. We finished watching the race and went out to dinner. When we got back we heard the shocking news! A fan who sat next to us at the Darlington race that Sept. was at the Daytona race when the accident happened. Very sad!

Oh Noooooooooo...... No race coverage on board??? Dunno if that's gonna get it or not. Hmmmmm.... what to do, what to do? I guess I'll have to make my picks hit the internet cafe to get the results. Hey... any port in a storm !!! LOL

Hey jlacobb!! Another NASCAR nut here- (Go Matt Kenseth!). We cruised last summer on the 4 day Wonder. By the time we were ready to relax (after making ressies, unpacking etc...) the race was long over with anyway. We cruised with my DS4, and he absolutley loved the cruise!! We had a little trouble with him staying in the kids club for more than an hour or so though. But he has problems with seperation anxiety anyway, so we were not surprised. The club can be a little overwhelming at first. The kids (we also have a DS8) loved cruising so much that we are going again this spring on a 3 day after spending 4 days in the parks!! I'm sure your 4 year old will love cruising too!!
