any pressed pennies machine IN japan epcot?

Yes it's tucked away in the shop with the Kimonos.
Every country in Epcot has a pressed penny machine.

experiment626mom, how recently was that? When we we there in Dec., there was only one Japan penny, and it was in the Morocco machine. Also, China did not have a machine.

When we were there in January I saw the machines. Sometimes you really need to search for them. We have bought pennies from all the countries in the past. Maybe they are starting to change things. I guess I'll have to get a list when we go in June!!!

When we were there last June we were told one country (and I can't remember which one, I apologize) had its pressed penny machine removed and there was no plans to reinstall it. Maybe they put it back, though...

If you go to http://www.parkpennies.com/Disneylandpennypressmachines.htm and click on the WDW in the list of links across the top of the page, then look at the links in the upper left frame, you'll find James Mayfield's unofficial list of WDW elongated coin machines in .pdf format. It has a list of all WDW machines, listed by location and updated fairly regularly. My daughter and I collect these, so I print out the list, mark off what we have, and bring the page(s) covering wherever we'll be that day.

As far as EPCOT, every country has a 3-design machine, plus there are many more in non-pavilion areas such as gift shops, Living Seas, etc. These are fabulous cheap souvenirs if you or your kids like them and the kids can have fun checking maps to find the machines in a treasure hunt. If you dont' want to spend all day doing this (and we sure don't) then pick out which ones you want or just decide how many you want during the day and get what you like when you see it.

Also - try to use pennies minted before 1982. They dont' have zinc in the middle like the newer ones. The zinc can be seen in streaks when you press a new penny and that silver color eventually oxidizes and looks yucky as well as possibly ruining the deisgn down the road. The older pennies can be shined up easily, so dont' worry if they're dull - you can shine before or after pressing if you want. I like the dullness, but some don't. Of course, pressing a new penny is better than not pressing, imho. :-)

China does NOT have a pressed penny machine and neither does Japan. I think you can get a Japan penny at one of the two stores at the head of the WS.

We were just at Epcot last week - Japan's penny press is in a shop in Showcase Plaza (at the front of World Showcase). China does not have a penny press machine at all - we were told something about them believing in reincarnation and not believing in pennies as lucky....not sure what all that means, but China does NOT have a penny press machine.

You're right - the Japan press isn't in Japan (part of me thinks it was there when I got the penny, but I'm not 100% on that). And China doesn't have a press. 9 countries do have them in or around their pavilions and shops, though. The site I pointed at in my earlier post has the correct locations. :-)

Thank you for sharing. My daughter loves the pressed pennies.

Here are some hints I thought ya'll might like since we all LOVE to press those pennies

1) Use pre 1982 Pennies because of the zinc content
2) Use pennies from a specifi date- Like wedding or honeymoon!
3) Polish Dull pennies-- over night in Vinigar and salt, the rub with
bakingsoda and water past with washcloth.
4) Use and M&M minies tube to keep them together.
