We have a reservation at Hertz. Just looked at a few review sites and we are thinking of trying someone else. Terrible reviews on three sites. Any positive reports out of orlando?

I did a 3 day rental from Hertz last August. Picked up at MCO and dropped off at Port Canaveral. I usually find them to be expensive but I found a great rate using AAA. Pick-up and drop-off went without a hitch. The full size car was in excellent shape. No issues at all. Would definitively use them again if the price was right.

Hertz has always been more expensive for me, so I've never booked them.

Are the complaints something that might be specific to a certain location (car readiness, cleanliness, "rude" employees) or something that would be company wide (lost reservations, old cars (repeatedly), breakdowns, etc)?

Also consider that people are far more likely to post a complaint than a complement. I've rented Hertz many times without incident. Although never in Orlando.

As an AAA member, Hertz and AAA have a partnership so we used Hertz in Orlando a few years ago. An AAA agent made the reservation for us and they could not locate the reservation when we arrived. I had confirmations of everything so I suspect it was a Hertz hiccup but they didn't let us see them sweat and took care of us after a brief delay. No other issues with the rental. I'd say Hertz and Enterprise are probably the two most reputable.

I have rented from Hertz countless times and have never had an issue. I find the vehicles to have low mileage, reliable, and no problems at all.

I have no objection to Hertz, but their rates always seem very high. The cars should be fine though.

Same here. We did a 2-day rental from MCO, with a drop-off at PC last August. I usually find them to be much higher than everyone else, but not that time (aalso used AAA). Perhaps they were running some specials alst August? We had a SUV which was nice and it was just over $100. Also, with AAA, you automatically become a Hertz "Gold" member, so we got to the rental area, there was a board with my name on it and the spot number where our vehicle was, we got in and drove off. No hassle at the return at PC either.

Thanks everyone. Makes me feel much better. We got a great rate in August thanks to someone on Disboards.
