Any Positive Recent BWV Trips?

Though we own at BWV, we've only been there 3 times. However, we have been to BCV and just find for ourselves that BWV is really great, and I think for adults in particular that BWV is an active and cool place to stay. You can't beat the walk to the park. Adults are more comfortable with BWV.

I am sure you will find many people saying BWV is great for the family, and I can't object..... I can just tell you that it is the greatest for adults (at WDW).

This is great to hear, our family is all adults now! With the youngest at 18, I thought this would be more to their liking. Didn't get to see everything on the Boardwalk last year, as it was a commando trip, trying to see all the parks, etc. This time, I plan to relax a little more! Famous last words!:wizard:

We stayed in a 1 bedroom preferred view in August and loved it. We were about as far down the hall as you could get but that was no problem for us. We used the stairway to come and go mostly. A quick walk around the corner and we were on the Boardwalk near Atlantic Dance. Could see the fireworks from Epcot from there and it was a smoking area for DH. The room was in good condition and the view of the Swan and Dolphin at night was great. We'd stay there again. Loved having the Boardwalk so near, the boats to Epcot and MGM were convenient. We walked to Epcot and back a couple of times as well as to the Studios. Even in the August heat the walk wasn't bad.

We're having a positive BWV trip right now! Now this trip doesn't fully qualify because it did get off to a bad start -- we didn't get the room until 8pm due to housekeeping overlooking it (a long story and I will follow up with a letter) but fortunately the wait paid off. The room is clean, we have a great view of the boardwalk and the fireworks. This is the view from the bedroom window:

And this is the same view as seen from the jacuzzi (and it's even better after dark.) Nothing like a nice relaxing soak in the jacuzzi with a view of SE!

Great pics!! So glad to hear your having a great trip. I must say, I'm getting nervous about the late checkin. I still need to buy airfare for 6 people, two which are coming from LA, CA. They will pretty much be getting in late, but for the rest of us, the flight is only 2 hrs. Should I plan on a later flight so as not to have to wait all day? But then that may affect my checkin request getting in too late. An then there's the question of when to get the groceries delivered? Still trying to figure all this out....the late check in is causing some problems.

LisaS - I'm not sure i'd sound so calm; 8:00 p.m. check in is unacceptable IMO. Hopefully, you will receive a phone call after you send your letter indicating acknowledgement of the issue.

When we had such a bad experience @ BCV; i was happy when I got a phone call after I fired off my letter of complaint. Validation I suppose; just wanted someone in authority to address the issue and make sure it didn't happen again to another guest:wizard: .

While it's important that management be advised of any problems while onsite; i believe a letter to the Disney executive offices is insurance of sorts for continued DVC top-notch service.

I recently spent a few nights at the BWV - mid September. I got exactly what I requested in a room - I had a preferred view and asked to be close to the elevator. I was over Wyland Galleries, on the fifth floor with a great view. Room was spotless - couldn't find dirt if I tried (and I tried ;) )

Was everything 100% perfect? No - this is real life - nothing is perfect :confused3. Are the imperfections even worth mentioning? Nope - because the place was gorgeous, the room and view exceptional - the service top notch. We throughly enjoyed our time there, spent alot of time at the pool, one night at Jellyrolls, dined at Big River Grille one afternoon.

It is my favorite resort, which is why we purchased there, and I can't wait to get back. Actually I've never had a bad enough situation or experience to make me negative about the place.

Keep :)

We just had a fabulous time at BWV! It was our first trip "home". We did stay in a two story grand villa and it was awesome! It was even ready when we got there. My ONLY complaint is that the dryer really didn't work well--a small thing--except we used it a couple times a day with 3 families. I love the view from the balconies and the proximity to Epcot and MGM can't be beat! The only other place I'd buy is if they do a resort on the monorail.

We stayed for a week in July and thought it was incredible. Room ready when we got there. Upper floor request room, pool view and we got it. Not a long walk anywhere. Pool was great. Of course the location was great. The only negative was no food court. I would stay there again hands down! It is up there with my favorites. :thumbsup2

We stayed in Sept, and had such a great time that we considered an add on there. Our room was pretty far down the hallway, but I couldn't understand why people would think it was too far of a walk. We didn't mind the air conditioned walk at all. Dh and I would "race" the girls in their strollers around the little sitting area and they loved it.
The only thing that bugged me, and this is small, are that the windows in the hallway are absolutely filthy. Every time we overlooked Luna park pool, we had to look through a dirt covered windows. Minor detail, but one that could easily be fixed.

We had our 1st BWV trip in April with the in-laws in a 2 bdrm and a studio. We were thrilled! It wasn't perfect, but close enough! Several things like the valet went very well, and we had a few minor problems as you can see below, but it was all very minor, and not bad for 9 people.:grouphug:

The Good:
  • The boardwalk view was spectacular.
(1st good view we've ever had at WDW!):yay:
  • The room was in excellent shape.
  • The valet service provided some of the best customer service I have ever seen anywhere.
  • We had room service because I was sick  and it was outstanding.
  • Check-in was quick for Disney and went very smoothly. They provided my niece and nephews 1st time visitor pins and DSIS and DBIL anniversary pins.
  • Bus and Boat service to the parks were outstanding.
  • Bell services did a wonderful job, and we brought in a ton of stuff.
  • The grounds and the pool were in great shape
.

The slightly annoying:
  • It was almost 5pm getting in the room.
  • Slow drain in 1 bathroom sink. (Fixed)
  • Sisters non-adjoining studio was not close by at all as requested. We were told in advance that it might not be close because of smoking, but they didn't get the smoking request either. [Smoking request is now a mute point.]
  • The concierge desk didn't put our tickets on our room keys when we went through the process. (Had trouble getting in Epcot.)
  • The concierge desk put charging privileges on my 8yo niece's princess: card and not my DBIL's card. (No big deal, he had to keep up with her card anyway -- and he just presented that card instead.):rolleyes1

BTW, there must not be a bad boardwalk view because we didn't have one. 2nd floor over Big River Grille.:cloud9:

We usually stay at BWV at least 2-3 times/year and aside from minor issues, we've been quite happy with our villas. Yes, sometimes it's been obvious that not all areas were vacuumed as well as they should have been (our granddaughter found money under one of the sofas; she thought Mickey had left it for her :rotfl: ), but all problems were addressed while we were there. :thumbsup2
In reading some of these posts, I do realize that we have been very lucky...........in all our years of visiting BWV, we've never had to wait past 4pm for our villa, and most of the time, it's ready well before then. :goodvibes

Our trip was in January - but it was great as always. WAAAYYYY down the hallway - but we request that. We always get BW view and there is a better view of Epcot from there. We race down the hall too (never late at night or early in the morning!). Room was clean and lovely. Check in was fine - room ready by about 3pm. For our next January trip, our flight doesn't get in until 10pm, so I am hoping our room is ready when we get to the hotel! :)

:lmao: I sure hope so at 10pm!!

We spent 5 nights in a 1 BDR in June for our first trip "home" and loved it.
We were in our room by 10:30. It was right next to the stairway which was very convenient for the 1 smoker in our group. Small problems such as light bulbs being burnt out were promptly taken care of. Can't wait for 58 days to pass to go back again. Our first December trip!! 5 nights followed by 3 night Wonder cruise.
