Any place to shower on Castaway Cay, after the 5k?

They have a shower house to rinse off but I don't recall there bein any soap I think it's more to just wash off

Thanks for the response.
Is there a place to change into a swimsuit in the shower house? Is it located near the 5K finish?
Thanks again

AFAIK, the showers on CC are outdoor showers. Basically for rinsing off the sand/salt water. Not for "really" showering. You can change into you swimsuit in the rest room. Not sure there are dressing rooms of any type there.

The first 5k we did there started early enough that we were finished before most people were off the ship and on the island. We simply went back to the ship, cleaned up and changed into swimsuits. The second time we ran it, the ship was delayed arriving at Castaway due to high winds. Once we finally got off the ship, it wasn't until 11am when we completed the 5k. We still went back to the ship to change and clean up.

With Disney having an island that allows them to dock the ship it makes this so easy. I wouldn't hassle with carrying toiletries and a change of clothes, plus trying to find a place to keep them secure during the run.

Agree with the PP. Just shower back on the ship and then bring your beach bag back on out to enjoy the island :) It was so nice to feel human again before putting on my swim suit to snorkel :goodvibes

The first time I did the 5K, I had hubby and son meet me with all of my day's stuff that I'd gotten together the night before. I changed in the restroom; very sweaty and sticky in there. Got my swimsuit on and handed my stuff over to the family. Then I rinsed off in the outdoor shower.

This time I just got my running stuff together in the morning and let them sleep in (first time they wanted to get off the ship earlier so they could meet Jack Sparrow but that wasn't a need this time). Once I was done, I went on back.

The second time felt much better. If doing it again, though, I would make sure everyone was a bit more ready so there was less dawdling in the room.

The ONE issue we did have was that we didn't have quite the pick of the loungers on the beach the second time. Then again, it was october vs february, so there were more people.

Perfect world? DH and DS would get off the ship all ready for THEIR day, would see me finish, and would go get a spot on the beach, etc etc, while I went back to the ship to clean up and change. :)

We saw others returning to the ship after 5K. I think that is what we are going to do. I don't know how we are going to do it all, but we are going to run the 5K, come back and clean up, apply our waterproof mermaid makeup, and go to the beach to transform in to mermaids. At this count, I have a potential of 4 and maybe 5 mermaids that will be in our group. Should make it fun for the family beach. And then I still want to play volleyball (when I get my legs back), ride Pelican Plunge again, and I still haven't even seen Serenity Bay yet!

I seriously hope 5K starts early!

In July, I just changed on the island as I figured my parents and sister were already at Serenity Bay. There were places to change, but I was so hot and sweaty that I almost got stuck both in my running bra AND in my swimsuit. And then I got to SB to find that they weren't there. Called on the wave phone and discovered they were JUST leaving the ship. We had no issues finding chairs or spontaneously renting floats when they got there.

So in February, I definitely plan to go back to the ship for showering and changing.

For me the best part about returning to the ship after was that my kids were watching for me and yelled and clapped from the verandah as I walked down the pier :). Ok, that and a shower. Even in mid-November is was HOT. I live (and run) in Orlando, but it was still hotter than I expected!
