Any Pic's of Grand Cayman and Cozumel Docking area?

Just wondering if anyone has seen or has pictures of the Grand Cayman and the Cozumel Docking areas for the Western Cruise starting in May, sort of like the pics we get from Port Canaveral and the docking area in St. Thomas. Heard that in the Caymans they do not dock, they do a "moaring" (sp). Just curious.

I have been to Grand Caymen and Cozumel on a Carnival cruise. You are right, there is no dock in Grand Caymen you get on a smaller boat (I have a brain fart right now and can't think of what they called it) and they bring you up to the dock. Cozumel had a great docking area, if it is the same one, you walk through a long shopping area to get out to the cab stand. They had a lot of nice things in there and it was air conditioned. I have pictures of both, but I don't have a scanner. Sorry. Hope this is a little helpful.

How funny! Story of my life... We think it's called a mooring(sp?) since we've found more out.

To the best of your knowledge, if we were to buy each other (us, not you) snorkeling equipt. before our trip, are there snorkeling areas w/in walking distance from the ship?

I thought you anchor off shore, and then tender in a smaller boat (called a tender) to a pier.

Hey Kim,
Sorry we missed each other on the 2/9 trip. We went to Grand Cayman several years ago and if the "tenders" take you to the same spot, there is a great snorkeling place called Eden Rock. It's to the right if you are facing the harbor. We also did a scuba trip there and loved it. We just got off the boat, took our own gear, and spent most of the day there. You can walk to it. Hopefully, it's still a great spot!

I forgot. When we went you could also rent gear right there if needed. I the little dive shop might still be there.

According to Cruise Ships Cuzumel, there are three piers on the island Cozumel.

According to an article at MousePlanet, "Disney Cruising to the Western Caribbean," by Sue Holland, "The Magic may get relegated to the furthest pier because it doesn't arrive at Cozumel until around 11 in the morning."

We docked at one of the more remote piers in 1993 (Celebrity Zenith). It was easy to get cabs to Chankanaab National Park (great skorkeling) and to the downtown business district.

I emailed DCL about this several weeks ago. This was their reply:

Disney Magic docks at the Punta Langosta pier. The pier is located downtown, just north of the Naval Base. Guests will be able to walk to restaurants, bars, shops, duty-free, etc.

This is the most convenient of the three piers.

That's it!!! Thanks everyone it is a tender. That was driving me crazy. Kim, I didn't snorkel at Grand Caymen, I'm not a very good swimmer, but I do remember there was a place to rent the equipment right where they dropped you off. Grand Caymen is very small so I don't think it would be far to walk. Have a great time. Grand Caymen was our favorite stop.
