Any perks for a previous Disney Cruiser?

Taking our second Disney cruise on 1/9/05. First cruise 2 years ago, don't remember much but this forum was a great help back then. Things have changed quite a bit so I hope I am not repeating previous questions. I am still trying to navigate around, my 4 yr old doesn't give me much pc time.

We are a family of 6 and will have 2 cabins so any suggestions or guidance for a last minute 4 night cruise with a 14, 13, 11, 4 yr and DH would be greatly appreciated. :Pinkbounc

As a 41 time Disney cruiser, I know a lot about the Castaway Club! The main perks are a gift in your stateroom (currently pin and a towel), as well as a reception with the captain and some officers where they serve snacks and drinks. You also have a special check-in line, but it's not always shorter than the regular one.

I would say that the other benefit is being able to book your next cruise onboard and get a better rate - especially if you use DVC points. I think that this will be my last DVC point cruise due to the devaluing exchange rate between DVC and DCL. If you pay cash, I think that the onboard re-book rates are as good as you will find.

The only time I ever got an upgrade was our first cruise - go figure!

So the moral is to book the category that you will be happy in, and if you get an upgrade it is a bonus!

Soda is now free at the drink station on deck 9!

This means alot to me and mine! :)

When we went in October it was a very nice beach towel. Have Fun!!

Wow, that is great! Is it one beach towel per cabin or per Castaway Cay Member? I would hate to have my kids fight over it!

Unfortunately, one towel per cabin.

You have to go on a cruise and then I believe you are enrolled in that. If anyone else has any other info please let me know.

do they automatically do that for past crusiers or
do you have to tell them you have crusied before??
Is it too late to add that to my Jan 4 sailing?

Has anyone received a Castaway Club member card that looks like a credit card. I sailed the first year of cruiseline and received a cardboard like card. I have sailed every year since, except 2000, but I have never received the credit cart type card.

We do have one of the plastic credit card type of cards for the Castaway Club. It has the name and says we have been members since 1999 and also has our membership number on it.

silverdisney,

If you look on the disneycruise.com website you will find a number of Castaway club members. Call there to find out your number. You will need the date you previously sailed I believe. Then call you travel agent and get her to add it to your reservation. Should be alright.

Good luck, tell us how you did!

Did you have to special request the card or did it just come in the mail?

The Castaway Club card automatically arrives in the mail.

Our first sail was in 1999 and our cards are the plastic credit card types.

Have the pins changed over the years? The pins we received in 1999 are identical to the pins we received a few weeks ago.

I ahve called three times and have never received our card. We were on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic and will cruise again Jan. 9th after rescheduling a canceled Sept. 4th trip.
