Any parks closing for Pop Warner attendees?

Does anyone know if any of the parks will be closing early for the Pop Warner participants in Dec.?

What is the Pop Warner event that I keep hearing about???? I read everything I possibly can that deals with Disney yet I cannot find anything about that. Thanks for the help!

Its a cheerleading competition. It comes up a lot because they mostly stay at the All Stars and some are (not all) rowdy and unsupervised. I hardly got any sleep when I was there.

But to answer the OP, I never heard of them closing the parks early.

To my knowledge, based on an attempted ADR call, MGM will close on friday at 6ish for the Pop kids.

We couldn't do a Fantasmic package for the night of the 8th, this is what I was told by a CM.

It is a league of young football players and cheerleaders, ages 8 to 16. They have regional championships and the top teams come to WDW for a week for their "Super Bowl". I believe there are 64 football teams who make it to WDW, I'm not sure about the cheerleaders (100's). The cheerleaders have their own competitions, they are not connected to the football teams that make it. The competitions are held at Wide World of Sports, they stay at the value and moderate hotels. It runs Sunday to Saturday, the last night (Friday) they have a private party at MGM. Disney just provides them the facilities for the championship, they are not involved in operating the league.

That's good to know about MGM closing early on Friday. This will help me in my planning.

We had friends down at WDW last year during PopWarner week and they said as far as the parks were concerned, they didn't have any trouble. They stayed at SOG (same as us), so the resorts were not an issue.
