Just bought a Fitbit last night at Best Buy to give me a more complete picture of my activity, calories, sleep patterns, etc. Anyone else using it? If so, have you had any trouble with it? I found lots of good reviews but also reports that it breaks frequently. I can't wait to use it to see how many steps I do at the theme parks!

I've had mine for three months now. I haven't had any problems. I love it. You have to be mindful of it which took about a week for me. A friend of mine is pretty scatterbrained and washed hers because she forgot to take it off her clothes. I always have it on me, the charger or my dresser (when I'm in the shower). As for actually breaking it, I don't know how people break them. I guess if you tried to clip it on really thick clothes, but why someone would do that, I don't know. It comes with a holder/clip for thicker clothes.

If you have any questions about it feel free to ask!

Thanks for the info! People claim it breaks on its own, i.e. just stops working for no reason, but it sounds like the company is good about replacing them. I forgot about it this morning and tossed it in the laundry still attached to my sports bra after my workout, but fortunately remembered. Do you use the website? I originally wasn't planning to track my food but find that very helpful now.

I do use the website. It is quite comprehensive. It has WAY more foods than the Weight Watchers site does, so I have been tracking with both. I have had my fitbit randomly stop recording my sleep, but it usually is fixed by a simple reset. To reset you put it on the charging dock and use a paperclip or similar item to push the button on the bottom.

It's a little too comprehensive, LOL! I'm shocked to find out how many calories are in some of my favorites. Just building that awareness is a good tool that make me more likely to shy away from the higher calorie items now that I know.

I agree! I have certainly thought twice about foods after logging them once. It can be a rude awakening.

Have you checked out the log activity area? Some of the activities you can log are surprising. I had no clue until my friend, and fellow fitbit user, told me.

LOL at some of those activities!

I went to SeaWorld for a couple of hours this morning and walked 8500 steps. Wonder how many I can rack up when I spend a full day at one of the parks.

My dad gave my mom, my sister and me the Fitbit for Christmas.
I like it and use it daily. However, I feel like a nice pedometer would be the same or better - considering the price.
Mine did randomly stop working, but a reset did the trick. Mine has almost never worked for the sleeping, so I've given up on that. There was a firmware update or two from their tech support, but it didn't work to fix it.
I like the website for the graphs (numbers geek here!). But I find the activities selection strange - at least, I've had trouble finding the activities I want to log.
I'm not a food tracker right now, as I'm not trying to lose weight - just monitor my fitness.

The thing I like about Fitbit vs. a pedometer is that it also tracks your sleep. I know it's not totally accurate about it, but it tells me how many times I wake up during the night so I like that aspect. I've been tracking the food because the awareness of what I'm eating helps me make better choices.
