skuttle~ I was very lucky with my dd. I got a BFP on the first try but I know we very well may not end up being so lucky this time around. I hope we are, of course, but I know that things don't always work out that way so we shall see.

We will probably not be trying too much in August. Sept. is more ideal for us with my schooling (trying to aim for a due date that falls AFTER my graduation, so Sept. would work well for that.) so that is when we will really get serious about it so I doubt that I will get a BFP before Sept. at the very earliest. I would love to start really trying right away but 1 more month won't kill me. Heck, I've had to wait a year already, so one more month should not seem too long before we can really start trying. ;)

I hope all of you ladies in the 2ww will have some great news VERY soon!

Dznylvr, I think in your case you should go for the temping. I just said that for Allison ;)

Tasha, I do hope that you have good luck with TTC! I can totaly understand about trying to pick certain times for having a baby vs others.

LOL! I haven't touched the BBT yet...I'm actually not positive I know where it is!

Tasha, I hope you are able to get pregnant when you want, right away. :) I would love to get pregnant in the next few months and have the baby during the summer since DH is a teacher. For a while I was also hoping for getting pregnant and having the baby all in the same calendar year due to the way our insurance works. Of course, after waiting so long, I don't care much anymore!

It's so funny how TTC works. We've tried for so long with no luck. With DS, and I know this will sound awful but it's the truth, I got pregnant after a law school Halloween party where we had a bit too much to drink and didn't take all of the normal precautions.

Congrats Kelly. I just learned yesterday that my best friend is pregnant. She married a terrific guy last July after some losers. I am also so surprised that it happened so quickly for her. She is 38 and her husband is 36. She is 7 months younger than me and I have known her since 9th grade.

Oh, Lisa...I'm so sorry. I am going through this as well with my best friend (since 4th grade!) so I know how hard it is.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! We stayed busy most of the weekend...spent the day shopping on Saturday and yesterday did stuff around the house (cut the grass and washed the dog!). It was actually a nice weekend. DS is really looking forward to seeing Underdog this weekend. LOL! He thinks the talking dog is really funny. AF is due by the end of the weekend, so I guess we'll see if my annual visit next week turns into anything more exciting!

It isn't so hard and I think that I have come to realize that maybe it isn't going to happen for us considering my age but there is always hope

Good morning, everyone.

Welcome, Tasha. Hope you have great luck, soon.

Allison - I remember a great law school Halloween party, too. I still don't know how we got home, and I think there was some hanky panky at the local Hardee's.

We took our friends' sons for Saturday night, and the kids had a good time - other than everyone wanting to boss each other around, the kids not wanting to go to sleep, and some talk of pulling their pants down to moon one another.

Kristy - I am still keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Lisa - Hang in there.

Well, me not being pregnant this month is a blessing in disguise in several ways. It would not have been easy being pregnant right before finals, which is how it would have worked out had we gotten pregnant this month.

AND my grandmother died yesterday after a 6.5 month battle with ovarian cancer. I would not want to be sharing my happy news of a pregnancy at the same time that I lost my grandmother so I am glad it didn't happen this month.

My grandmother was only given 4 months to live back in Jan. and made it 6.5 and I was blessed and able to see her twice (she lived in another state from me) before she passed and to tell her goodbye. She also got to meet my dd and my dh (and yes, it took 8 years for dh to finally get to meet her, even though I had visited with her several times since I've been married). She also did not suffer so, as sad as we all are, we are also grateful for that.

Allison, we've had conversations among our friends about similar things. We try so hard at times not to get pregnant, but when we really want to, it becomes the impossible dream. Kind of odd how that all works... when you don't try, sometimes you get the luckiest (obviously not true for all)

Lisa, I can understand the mixed feelings. I hope that your friend's good luck will rub off on you :)

Kristy, my fingers are still crossed for you!!!

Rebecca, is today the u/s? If so I hope to hear happy news!!!

I'm out for the month. It's early in trying, but it makes DH have doubts. I think he suspects it should be WHAM! pregnant, first try. He also thinks morning sickness starts immediately. He has a lot of funny misunderstandings about pregnancy. I thought he was going to be happy when I told him we weren't, or relieved, I guess is a better word, since we're under so much stress right now, but he was actually a little sad. I think we made some important decisions this weekend, so I think stress-wise, things are about to get a lot better.

Tasha - I am so sorry for your loss.

WDW Aurora - Better luck next time! And have a good time trying.

I kind of thought that, too, when I first started TTC about 4 months ago. I was so convinced I'd be pregnant right away that I didn't have any alcohol during that cycle, and I was already thinking about maternity clothes!

AF just arrived for me over the weekend, so it looks like another month of trying for us.

I bought a basal thermometer but I keep forgetting to temp in the morning when I wake up. :sad2:

Morning all...

Tasha I'm so sorry for your loss

Lisa I'm sorry that you're also going through a friend pregnancy when ttc. It can be really difficult.

WDW Aurora sorry you're out this month but glad that you were able to talk to dh and work through some of the stress.

ChesireVal sorry this wasn't your month.

Thanks to all for the crossed fingers.

Only 4 more days!! DH has agreed that we can test at home Wednesday so I'll let you know what it says. If it's negative we're just going to wait for the hcg test. All the cramps I had have gone. Saturday my left (*) started hurting really bad and I haven't felt great. Otherwise I have no symptoms now. I'm not sure if that's good or bad :confused3

Hi! I am also going through the infertility process. I have a son who is 3 and have been TTC# 2 for 13 months now. I just started going to a RE in early July and am going through the testing phase. I have had the sono HSG (no blockage), Post Coital (good), SE (hubby, he's fine). The RE's office just called and said my Progeserone level was good, 17, so what does that mean? I am due to have a Endometrial biopsy next Mon (6th) and due for my period on the 7th or 8th. Could the high level mean I'm pregnant? I figured I should come here to ask the experts!!!

Do you mean your nipple? If so, that is the first and only symptom (left, too) I had every time I was PG. The pain got progreesively worse, especially on the left, and I couldn't even let the water hit it in the shower. And it started hurting well before I could test - I swear it started at the moment of conception. It's a good sign!

Welcome, Mla! Lots of good luck to you! I don't know about the progesterone level, but I think Rebecca is well versed, so hopefully she will be able to shed some light.

My uneducated guess, is that the progesterone is "good" for that time in your cycle, and that it wouldn't necessarily indicate a pregnancy.

Saturday night I accidentally laid on it and the pain was horrific. From there the rest of the breast throbbed yesterday. Today it seems fine but it's tender to the touch and DH says the whole breast looks swollen.

This was how I was when I was pregnant with Kylie as well. It was my first symptom and I swear it happened from the moment of conception too. The water in the shower nearly made me yelp in pain...they were that tender. So I think it's a good sign too! Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Kristy!

Hello everyone!!!

Tasha: I'm so so sorry for your loss  I lost my grandma back in 96 to ovarian cancer. She fought for 8 long years before it just became to much for her and she stopped treatment. My Aunt is going through it right now.

Sorry to all of those who had AF show over the weekend. I hope you all get better results next time...but remember to have fun while trying!!!!! ;)

Denae: Sorry the kids got rowdy...we had our nephew last week so I understand. He is like watching 4 kids all by himself. :rotfl2:

Elaine: Yup the u/s is at 1pm today.

mla2177: A progesterone number of 17 on a non-medicated cycle is really good (it is a good number if it was a medicated cycle as well) . It means you had a strong ovulation. Unfortunatly it has no bearing on if you are pregnant or not. The number should peak 7 days after ovulation and if you do get pregnant it will continue to climb but the only way to know would be to be tested every couple of days.

Kristy: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!!! :wizard:

Tahsa, I didn't see your post earlier... I am so sorry for your loss

Aurora, sorry that this month is out for you as well. I might suggest getting a scary kind of pregnancy book from your DH just so he knows all that goes on with the body and how hard it really is. I've been making my husband read some so he understands how the female body is working.

Val, sorry about AF showing too. I was horrible about temping at first. Fortunately my doc told me to stop because she would just do the blood tests no matter what after x amount of time. Helped me to not stress about things ;)

Kristy, that is a good sign. With the first pregnancy soreness in that region in general was my very first symptom. It got horrible after time. This time around it was just a faint hurt... nothing big, but got worse for a while and finally began to dwindle after about 12ish weeks or so.

Rebecca, good wishes for a great u/s. I think you should see something between a blob and an alien :teeth:
