Kristine, welcome! We've had a lot of luck with IVF on this thread. So many of us have been through it, so we pretty much have the market cornered on advice. :goodvibes I think we've experienced pretty much everything. ;)

Vick, that's awesome that your doctor is moving fast. There is nothing worse than being told to just wait it out.

Nicole, I'm glad you're feeling better! :thumbsup2

I had to have a Non-Stress Test today. I've been sick with the flu (which stinks 100x worse when you can't take anything good) and I haven't felt much movement. I called the doctor and they had me come in. She's fine, but I still feel nothing. Odd. They also did a throat culture because they think I have strep. :confused3 I got some Ambien to sleep because I've been up all week with body aches. I can't wait to take it tonight!

I hope everyone has a great long weekend!!!

I believe that I have posted on this thread a while ago, but then we ended up taking a break from TTC and now we are back. My daughter Katie is a clomid baby, and we've been trying to have a sibling ever since her first birthday. I did Clomid two rounds, got pregnant and had a miscarriage, then did Clomid for a few months more with nothing to show for it. We haven't been prevnting, even during our 'break' (actually, our whole marriage) but no luck there. Now we are with a fertility clinic and keeping our fingers crossed that we will have more luck with some stronger medications.

I just met with the nurse and got my meds ordered for my first IUI attempt. I'm doing Gonal-f to get the little eggs growing, then something called Ovidrel, which is the trigger shot, I guess. Then we'll do an IUI and I'll start the icky Progesterone suppositories after that. Joy. If anyone can give me an idea of what I can expect side effectwise, I'd appreciate it!

Now I just wait for AF. As it has been going back and forth between 18 and 40 days that could be in a few weeks or a month!

I am excited to be back in this, at least. We decided to book a DCL trip for January of next year. We'd cancel it if I get pregnant, but I think it helpsto have something exciting to fall back on just in case this doesn't work either.

Anyway, Hi there. :cheer2: :cheer2:

It was impossible for me to decide where to pick up with personals so I will just start from when I posted. I spent an hour scanning quickly and I have a decent idea of what has been going on.

Kristine: Welcome! The girls here are such a wealth of information!

lovinwdw: What great results! How exciting to find out if it's a boy or girl. I'm an interior designer and my favorite rooms to do are nurseries.

Nicole: Thanks! That is so sweet. It's a lot of info to digest. I'm sure I'll have questions. So glad the morning sickness is over and you are gaining weight.

Carla: I hope you feel better soon.

Scmoogrrl: You must be so excited. It sounds like we are going to go through some smiliar things. I am going to try just the progesterone suppositories for the first couple of months. The doc said it's a long shot, but we wanted to try just that and see how it goes. Then we move on to what you're doing it sounds like. I'll do Follistim (different name brand from the Gonal F) and Femara (kind of similiar to Clomid drug), then a trigger shot followed by IUI. I'll let you know how those icky progesterone things (starting them in @ a week) are if you tell me about the injections. I hope AF comes soon for you.

Have a great Friday night. POTC in a couple of hours!
Jenifer

Thanks for the welcome!

For those who did IVF...how was the egg retrieval process? Painful? I start BC pills Sunday...go in 2 weeks to hear the whole "plan". In the mean time...I keep reading & reading

**************
I had my 16 wk check up today and all is well -- I got to hear the baby's heartbeat again (using the doppler) -- it was just amazing and was measuring in at 162 bpm! My blood pressure was perfect and I have gained 3 lbs (which is a change from last time when I lost a pound) - but now that my morning sickness is pretty much over - I am finally eating again!

I have my u/s to find out if this peanut is a boy or a girl on June 22nd -- I cannot wait!!!!

***************

Hope everyone has a great long weekend!

Hugs,
Nicole

Nicole,

So glad everything is going great. I bet it was amazing to hear that heart beat. Congrats to u! June 22nd is right around the corner; you'll know soon. :goodvibes

I did IUI with glonal F the only side effect I had was unusual cycles. There may be some cramping afterwards and you will have to check your weight. We didn't have sucess with anything and have basically given up the fertility stuff. With the iui and glonal f you have to do a lot of ultrasounds and basically it was just so expensive but good luck to you. The nurse should give you a sheet with symptoms after the 1st iui.

I'm on my way out to a farmer's market at too damn early in the morning, but just wanted to tell you....

AF STARTED LAST NIGHT! :cheer2: :cheer2: With NO CRAMPS at ALL! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yeah, it's pretty dumb when you're excited that it started...but knowing in about a week it'll be time to start with the OPKs has me happy. And no cramps is a BIG PLUS! Hubby told me on Saturday he can't wait for us to get going with da baby makin'. ;)

Plus, we have two new countdowns. WOOHOO! :)

That is pretty sad when you are jumping up and down for AF to start:rotfl2:

For those of you who are fed up with grapefruit juice, green tea also works really well! Someone reccomended it on another TTC board I belong to and I've noticed a big difference since I started drinking it. It does have caffeine though.

Gurgi--Congrats on AF (feels weird to type that :) )

Hope everyone had a great memorial day weekend (or just a good regular weekend for those of us not from the US).

It's been kind of a downer weekend for me. I had really high hopes for this cycle, I know we hit the "window" and FF is actually showing an O date, but I don't think it's gonna happen this time around. I don't "feel pregnant" (never having been pregnant, not sure what that we would be, but I don't have any of the classic symptoms). I guess I will know for sure in about eight days.

Cheers!

Rebecca...I have, unfortunately, slacked off a bit on the grapefruit juice during the long weekend! For some reason, making it part of my daily routine wasn't bad. But trying to add it in during the weekend was a lot more painful! How was POTC?? Our 7th anniversary is this weekend so my mom will be watching DS so we can go out to dinner and see POTC. I think we saw pirates last year for our anniversary, too! Between POTC and the next Harry Potter I'm very excited about the summer movies this year!

Kristine.. Welcome!! The IVF girls have had a lot of luck on this thread! Hopefully the same for you. :goodvibes

Jennifer...Thanks for sharing your story. Next month will be the year mark for me. I have an appt in August. I've been trying to temp the past few months so that I have something when I go in August. And hopefully we can start getting to the bottom of this right then and there! I'm tired of waiting. Good luck to you!

Nicole...How exciting for you!! Glad to hear things are going so well. :) :) Once you find out what you're having, it'll all seem so much more real!

LOL Gurgi! That's so funny! After all you've been through, I hope you get that BFP quickly! :goodvibes

Carla...I hope you are doing better. You're almost there! Don't they say the baby stops moving as much towards the end because there's not as much room in there? I thought that's what I had read back when I was pregnant. Of course, you've already made it further than me..DS arrived at 35w6d.

Sue, it's not over till it's over! But I feel ya because I'm beginning to think we missed our window this month. *sigh* My temps are all over the place so that's not helping. We were doing good...every other day. Then we skipped a day and I think we missed it. I'm trying not to get too down about it yet, but I'm not getting my hopes up either. I'm just ready for August to get here so I can go to my OB/GYN and start the next "stage" if necessary.

Princess Pooh...Thanks for the info on the tea. Does green tea taste a lot like regular tea? I'm not a tea drinker so I've stayed away from green tea, although I hear it's really good for you.

I'm dreading going back to work today! It's SO hard to go back after a nice, long weekend. And to make matters worse, DH is a teacher and he finished last Thursday so he's home! We spent so much time outside playing with DS. He got a slip-n-slide and me and DH did it! LOL! We actually ended up overshooting it and tumbling over the bumper at the end. LOL! You go a lot faster than I remembered...of course, we're a lot bigger so that probably has something to do with it! It was fun, but I just hope none of the neighbors saw us! We really need to put up our fence asap! LOL!

Hi, everyone!

We had a great weekend, but it is oh so hard to come back to work. It is absolutely beautiful outside today.

We put up our new swing-set yesterday, and it is a wonder all members of our family are still alive - really.

Welcome to all the new and returning girls! Lots and lots of luck to you.

Denae

:rotfl::rotfl:I know what you mean...there has been a few project for us like that...

2nd day of BCP...it feels so odd to be taking them. DH has to have TESA...and he is already having anxiety over it. Deep down I know he doesn't want to do it...it is all just so stressful.

Kristine...my husband also had to have a TESA done. He stressed out big time before the procedure but it went well. He was surprised that the pain level was lower than he expected. They will give your DH a jock strap to wear for at least two weeks afterwards.

LOL on the BC pills. I'm waiting for AF to show up so I can start mine as well. This will be my second IVF.

Kristine, retrieval isn't too bad. Honestly, I enjoyed it. I LOOOOVE the drugs. I showed up to the hospital all excited. Gimme the IV, gimme the drugs, do whatever you want. :goodvibes My RE said I sing and talk up a storm. I don't remember that, but OK. ;)

I have a lot of pain after though. The 1st time it happened, I tried to be a hero and just deal with it. That was wrong. My transfer was sheer torture. After that, I got pain medication. There are so many things you can take that are safe. If you have pain, ask for something. I found Toradol worked best, but I was given Tylenol with Codeine and Vicodin, too. All safe to take. Don't suffer. I am pretty much bedridden, but I just lay in bed, drink my Gatordate for the OHSS, take my pills and relax.

But, the procedure itself is simple....as long as you're knocked out. I am and it was my favorite part of the cycle. :thumbsup2

Skuttle, I think I heard movement slows down later on, too....running out of room maybe? It's such a drastic drop off though! These kids already know how to scare the crap out of us!

I had a random check-up today. Nothing big going on. Still sick and miserable. I've already started planning my 12/08 trip to WDW. I need my Disney fix. Then I realized it'll be 3 whole years between trips! WOW! Time flies. I can't wait to go back....I'm getting that Disney Itch.

Couple of questions if you don't mind...

how long did he have any residual pain?

Does he have to do TESA again?

Bill had a reversal done a number of years ago...and had residual pain for 6 months...hence the fact that he is nervous now.

How did they coordinate his procedure with yours?

He had the procedure done on May 30th of last year. I think the last of the pain went away by mid June. There are times now that he'll wear the strap if he's standing for long periods of time. It has to do with the procedure and the hanging effect bugging him.
No...it was a one time deal. All of his guys are frozen now and waiting for my IVF cycle.
He has Azoospermia so they won't come down. The doctors had to make an incision and go get them.

Gurgi-Congrats on AF!:goodvibes Hope you get a BFP sooner than later!

GypsySue-It is not over until AF rears her ugly head! Keep positive!:)

Allison-You too need to keep positive. A couple of friends told me recently when they were convinced they were bfn they ended up being bfp! So you never know!

Today is CD8 for me. I usually O on CD15/16. So, hopefully we will be inseminating next Tuesday and Wednesday! :cheer2:

Hope everyone has a magical day!:wizard:

I am so freakin' tired today. Still no cramps, just feel worn out. I think it's the packing/excitement of the move this week coming on ;)

We're going to Epcot tonight to walk around. Hubs has been getting into walking a little more, and I know that exercise will help his "boys"...lol.

BTW...he actually told me this weekend that he's 100% ready for us to have a baby now. He's antsy to have one. I hope this happens soon! :)
